Stacey Abrams’ Campaign $1 Million in Debt

Stacey Abrams’ spending questioned after manager reveals campaign’s $1M debt.

NY Post: Stacey Abrams’ campaign is $1 million in debt — despite raising more than $100 million in her second straight unsuccessful Georgia gubernatorial bid, according to a report Monday.

The Democratic stalwart’s campaign owes the cash to vendors, Axios reported, citing manager Lauren Groh-Wargo.

Though Abrams is known for her fundraising and get-out-the-vote skills, the campaign’s 180 full-time staffers got their last paychecks Nov. 15, just a week after Election Day, the report said.

“People have told me they have no idea how they’re going to pay their rent in January,” a former staffer told the outlet. “It was more than unfortunate. It was messed up.”

Groh-Wargo claimed the campaign was hit by a “cavalcade of negative press and negative polling” that hindered fundraising in the final months, adding that it has had to work with brokers to sell donor and voter databases to help pay down the debt.

Abrams lost to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in a rematch of their bitter 2018 contest.

After suffering defeat four years ago by just under 55,000 votes, Abrams was crushed in the rematch by more than 299,000 votes.  more here

  1. Paging Jethro, Maybe TRF. I’m trying to calculate the PSI of The Tank in a pair of Stilettos. Based on a 3/8 diameter contact point. I keep coming up with, “Off The Charts”.

  2. If only there was some Young Democrat Sympathetic Financial Genius that could take investor money, convert to Crypto, Bounce the transactions around the globe to an Easter European Country to launder the funds for an unknown fee and send back a large amount of that money to Democrat Strategists.

    Oh well, one can dream…

  3. If the stilettos are 3/8″ and she weighs (conservative guesstimate) 350 pounds, then the area is 0.2208932 in^2 and the PSI is thus: 1,584.4759 – which exceeds the floor structural limits of most buildings.

I only used a slide rule in high school. Calculators after that. I still have my TI55 and it still worked great…until I tried to run your compressive stress calculation. It locked up. There aren’t enough digits on the screen.

  5. She gained three million in net worth with her first failed gubernatorial run. Prior to announcing her second run she had a net worth of $3.1 million. What is her net worth today?

I think it was just a scam to build wealth.
