Breitbart: On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys walked arm-in-arm onto the field for the start of their training camp with families of the Dallas police officers killed by a gunman last month.
During Monday’s “First Take” on ESPN2, co-host Stephen A. Smith reacted to the Cowboys’ tribute, telling the team littered with off-field transgressions to obey the law and be more authentic if they truly respect the law. [Video]
Your Mother’s brother Thomas alert!
I read his bio and he doesn’t seem to be a complete dick however his speciality is basketball. I suppose being on ESPN gives one a clue about his politics. In any event he does have a point but he says it in the wrong place. When an attempt is being made to heal some of the rift between the black community and the cops this sort of gesture should be applauded not dismissed with a faulty comparison. If Smith wanted to take the NFL to task for their players behaviour off the field and the NFL hierarchy choosing to ignore or cover it up, then he should have done that as a story but it appears Mr. Smith isn’t in it for accuracy.
Why do people need, “sports commentators”? Seriously, how hard is it to follow a bunch of grown men playing children’s’ games?
Since Skip Bayless left, because he hates the censorship at politically correct, Disney-Owned ESPN, don’t expect anything like the show as it was last season. Stephen A. plays a character, much like Jim Rome plays ‘Van Smack’, so that is all schtick. However, without the chemistry he had with Bayless, the show is pretty much flat, without substance. It’s Stephen A. versus some mook in a nice blue suit. Look for this to be the last season.
@Just Al
Sports “fan” is short for “fanatic”. That’s what fans are. A fat dude in a Steph Curry jersey or a 50+ year-old wearing Star Wars gear is pretty much the same. These people want to live, sleep, breathe, eat, shower and fornicate their obsession. That’s why we have specialty channels where you can watch NFL games from last year in the middle of the night in March. It’s why you can buy Star Trek lingerie and sci-fi sex toys.
They are fanatics. No balance in life.
JustAl, They tried that once.
Once.

Man, I hadn’t heard Skip Bayless’ name in many years. Would’ve guessed he was dead of old age already.
From what I remember, he was a jerk. I forget the derogatory name he earned back then, but it was a play on his name.
