Sturgis Motorcycle Rally COVID-19 Numbers Are in

PJM: The 80th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally took place from August 7-16 in South Dakota. Attendance at the rally was slightly down, at 462,000, a 7.5% decrease from 2019. No doubt COVID-19 fears played a part in the attendance reduction. Perhaps those with pre-existing health conditions declined to attend.

COVID-19 panic certainly preceded the rally. Indeed, it was predicted that it would be a mass superspreader event that would result in significant illness and death. Or not. The numbers are in for the City of Sturgis, and they are quite laughable. More people died from fatal crashes during the rally than from the virus.

The City of Sturgis conducted mass COVID testing for its citizens after welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors for the 80th annual Motorcycle Rally. Now, the city is announcing the results.

A total of 650 people took advantage of the free testing, with 26 people testing positive for COVID-19.

All of them were asymptomatic at the time of testing.

It is unlikely there will be new positive tests related to the rally. It would also be highly unusual for symptoms to appear at this stage. The city waited 12 days before publishing the results and the most common point for symptoms to appear is between days four and five after infection.

In total, it appears, as of August 28, 12 days after the rally, a total of 196 positive tests were linked to rally attendance:

  1. It made absolutely zero difference here in the black hills. But, I did go to the dr and the “greeter” asked if i had been to the rally, and the sign on the door said if you attended the rally please go to _____ for testing first. And you knew the misleadia media would twist and pervert any flu news. When they asked me i just laughed. But even the doc i saw demanded i wear the muzzle or she wouldnt see me. I should have walked out but didnt.

Waddajoke. I also went to kool deadwood nights (the weekend following the rally), over 700 cars registered and heavily attended, I actually saw some dingbat driving a cutlass convertible alone while wearing a mask. That kind of person is a complete idiot, trusting the news. What a fool.

Viruses are highly moral entities. They understand, like all good democrats & liberals, that they have to back off during protests in order to improve society.
Covid-1984 Viruses are mostly peaceful and only light fires to stay warm during the chilly August nights the United States are known for.
Viruses are often found around Starbucks, college campuses, & and in their parents basements, but these are also places where they tend to not transmit to others. Once again for the improvement of society & the liberation of oppressed peoples.

The viruses is most dangerous in places such as: family gatherings where a male father figure IS present, churches, police/fire/national guard units, and Donald Trump’s buildings and staff.

Therefore, the data suggesting that Sturgis was not a “super spreader event” is clearly false. The Whitehouse rally stats have not yet been released yet, but will surely be “fake news” as it was exactly the type of breeding ground where it thrives.

CNN has stated this on many many occasions and since I have never actually seen them print or broadcast a retraction, EVER, I will surely believe them above anyone who they disagree with.

Now, I shall switch to Canada’s CBC to hear the blessed truth as it has been given to them by my fearless leader, the horourable Justine Turdeau, son of a whore and possibly Fidel.

  3. Once again, my favorite Harley joke:

Q: What is the difference between a Harley Davidson & a vacuum cleaner?

A: On a Harley the dirt bag is on the outside.

God bless the dirt bags & the only bikes that hold their value.
    Cheers!

  4. I used to date a gal that owns the Mangy Moose in Hill City. I hear she’s sold the bar. There might still be a clay sculpture of the “heads” that I gave to her that I made in college…so, there’s that….say hello to Tana if you go….

  5. We were there the the week before the 80th and boy was the entire area crowded, Keystone, Hill City, Deadwood. Never been to Sturgis before and it was a great ‘moment’ to be there.

Met CWW the next day! :>)

I learned the ambient sound of the Black Hills is low speed cruising Harley engines…very soothing actually.

When we got back, SD was put on the NYS ‘list’ so I had to do quarantine jail for two weeks!
