How can the left call us unsympathetic when we want these poor insane homeless people taken care of?
I know their crying points, but they are just self serving. They want to be seen as sympathetic, but we know they are lying. They are just pretending to care for them in order to virtue signal.
Claudia: If Biden(‘s handlers) had come up with the exact same plan, we would be hearing about how great and compassionate it was.
The Dems will find a way to exploit this for personal gain. Commit people who should be free, overbill the Gov’t for services not rendered, etc. Most of the people involved in “helping the homeless” aren’t really trying to help them, they just see it as a way to make a ton of money.
Claudia — It’s more than virtue signaling. Geoff C. has been saying this for years, that “homelessness” is big business. It’s something the Left wants to never actually solve because all the funding would dry up. If you look at any typical city, there are dozens of public employees in every one of them, all of whom make at least $120K and many make more than that, just to “administer” “homeless” programs. And yet the problem not only doesn’t get solved, it has become worse with every dollar thrown at it. Like every other Leftist issue, millions and billions are siphoned off and granted to “experts” to conduct study after study, only to conclude what common sense tells us — before one red cent was spent.
If we combined all the money spent on “homelessness” in one big pile…we could have built lavish homes for every single “homeless” person in the country and had enough left over to also build and staff state-of-the-art treatment facilities for both mental and drug patients.
It is exactly what I’ve been saying and posting for decades. The progressive/Marxist/Satanists are extremely good at recognizing “vulnerable populations.” They get paid to be. Each and every “vulnerable population” they either identify or create is another population they can exploit to advance their own agenda. And boy do they.
What has a lot of good and decent people scratching their head is “what’s in it for them personally to make a priority to make it attractive for individuals who are not productive to MOVE TO THEIR CITY?” The answer also explains their wild eyed campaigning for “market rate housing,” “affordable housing,” or whatever euphemism they have focus grouped will get the best response.
Elected and appointed officials, their friends, family and campaign contributors develop these goddamn insta slums and the taxpayers fund the bastards and then they move the recruits in and the federal government pays the rent on the goddamn apartments. It’s called Section 8 and the dirty motherfuckers are getting filthy rich off of it.
During the campaign for the 2010 Vancouver mayoral race, one candidate said he would end homelessness in the city by 2015. He was elected. I know you will be shocked too learn this, but when he left office in, I think, 2018 the homeless situation was worse.
About 20 years ago, a homeless person in Vancouver died as a result of a fire he started to keep warm on Christmas Eve. As expected, Homeless Inc. said that the incident was an indication that more money needed to be spent to take care of the homeless. They never mentioned that earlier in the evening, ambulance crews offered to take him to a shelter something like three times — and he refused each time. Homeless people have rights, so they cannot be forced to go someplace they don’t want to go, because people who are incapable of making decisions on how to care for themselves get to say how they are cared for. And when they are wrong, it is “society’s” fault that the person was not properly cared for.
Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Don’t have one?
Make one…
then CA$H in on it!!
The same MO since Cloward & Piven started it! All it takes is a nice sounding cause and a label to slap on it!
The only label they really need is: “Shit-Holes-Я-Us”
Regardless of any comments I have made in the past, the best solution to the current ‘homeless crisis’ – which entails many aspects which is why I put it in quotes is:
Governments, from federal to local, stop finding ways to profit from it.
Enable private charities to do what they do best, and they will find the right solutions tailored to the individual needs of the homeless. Dedicated, loving people are a thousand times more effective than government employees.
The crisis is costly. In many areas, gov’ts at all levels are WORSENING the crisis intentionally, not caring about the individuals struggling to cope and to survive. If those gov’ts would JUST STOP, then we can in fact get homeless down to probably 10% of what it is now. There will never be zero, but there can be far, far, less – and when there are far less we can more easily help them, or if necessary imprison or hospitalize those beyond help.
Like Rush used to say, when the govt taxes something you’ll get less of it and when they subsidize something you’ll get more.
I agree with Left Coast Dan about enabling “private charities to do what they do best.”
My church works with several other churches in my town to take one week per the number of participant churches (currently 7) to house homeless people/families.
We set up cots in our gym, have a few church members stay overnight for security, serve them meals, work with them to help them find jobs, provide rides for the children to attend their schools, and have daycare for the pre-school children.
By the time it’s our turn again, we seldom get repeat families.
“Oh me, oh my. Sigh. Whoa is me. I dunno, man.”
“Dude! It’s gonna be OKAY! I’ll show you the money, man! You want some money, dude? Sure you do! Say, “Show me the money! Go ahead, say it. Say it!”
“Show me the money.”
“Way to go, dude! Here you go, dude! (Fi Dollah.) Don’t spend it all in one place! Hahahahaha!’
American Thinker has an article by Monica Showalter entitled: ” ‘ Safe parking’ for homeless in campers in San Diego is largely a waste of taxpayer money”. The city wasted $14MIL of taxpayer’s money for this !!
The Homeless Industrial Complex pays quite well, with most of the money never making it to those in need.
The same way that pedos will target any organization that gives them access to kids, Dem thieves will target any sort of campaign that gives them access to graft. Here’s another:

I mostly agree with LCD Dan about enabling the charities. Whatever the gov’t does do not fund these charities, or people will begin to see it as a way to get money out of the federal gov’t and pretend to care. As mentioned above, they will not really want to solve the problem or their paycheck goes away. Gov’t funding will usher in corruption every time.
@Cynic – and all of those ‘Christian charity’ NGOs funneling immigrants into the US, which now have lost their USAID funding, are proof of that!
@LCD that’s exactly who I was thinking about.
