ST. ANSGAR, Iowa, March 15 (UPI) — Officials in an Iowa county said a controversial sign warning of “Suicidal Deer” is meant to keep motorists alert when driving in animal-heavy areas.
Some Mitchell County residents said they feel the sign, which was installed recently along Highway 105 just outside of St. Ansgar, is insensitive toward those suffering from mental illness.
“Suicide? That makes it look like a joke, and myself, I have never had anybody close to me decide to take their own life, but I’ve had a lot of friends and other people who have and I know it is a sensitive subject,” Sally Hertel, who lives near the sign, told KIMT-TV. MORE
Oh the outrage. But when it comes to blondes, no big deal.

“I have never had anybody close to me decide to take their own life, but I’ve had lots of friends and others who have” said Sally Hertel. WTF???? Is this how liberals think? The people that I consider my friends are very close to me.
If you’re tooling around doing 80, like I usually do. Aim for the deer! Go right for the fcuker!
You will never hit it. Years of experience on this.
I once heard you’re supposed to honk instead of hit the brights. The theory was bright light will freeze/startle deer causing you to hit them.
So I hit the horn between a couple potato fields on a pair in the middle of the road while towing. Remote location, 2 lane road doing 65 or so in the middle of winter. The outcome? Two deer flopping like crappies on the road while I barreled onto them at nearly 65MPH. Fail! But my passenger was impressed at how fast I stopped the rig.
Many occasions later telling the same story, the resounding advice was to go where you last saw the critter. 895 times since, I haven’t hit another animal with my carbon burning hellfire transportation device.
How do the deer know to gather near the signs??
Maybe the sign should show an image of a deer holding a .45 to its head.
So colleges aren’t the only places with special snowflakes…
The damned deer are major league pests in Montana especially on Hwy. 200 going east towards Thompson Falls early in the morning, I just about got another one the other day who ran out in front of me, I’ve already clobbered 2 0f them in the past 5 years and one moose who ran into the side of my van just North of Sandpoint, Id. I am very vary of them because I never know what they’ll do when I see them along the side of the road and I’ve seen a few elk up that way lately as well, I don’t want to hit an elk either. We had a guy who used to work for us who was a deer magnet and killed at least 5 of the critters while out driving, we were about to start putting deer symbols on the side of his truck because he was an ace deer slayer. Montana is said to have the highest deer road kill ratio in the entire country, I can believe it.
“I have never had anybody close to me”
so shut up you stupid bint because you just admitted you don’t know what you are talking about.
this ridiculous false rationalization about how someone can feel someone else’s pain who they don’t personally know then run around and campaign based on their idea of justice just blows me away.
the sign is funny! period! get over it!

Deer are the most dangerous animals in this country. They kill far more people than any other.
If they weren’t so much fun to hunt and eat I’d advocate getting rid of them all.
And yeah, the high beams will freeze them in place. Great for letting your wingman bag them from the window.
(just kidding kids. Never hunt from a moving vehicle)
“(just kidding kids. Never hunt from a moving vehicle)”
but if you do, before you shoot, make sure you roll the window down!
“Nice looking 13 point buck you got. How’d ya get it?”
“With my ’09 Silverado.”
They’ve had several commie-run institutions of higher disinformation for many, many decades.
