TownHall: The confirmation of President Joe Biden’s nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), David Chipman, received another blow on Tuesday. GOP Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), who has voted for some of Biden’s nominees, announced that she will not support Chipman’s controversial nomination.
“After meeting with Mr. Chipman, listening to Mainers, and reviewing his record, I have decided to vote against Mr. Chipman’s nomination to serve as the ATF Director,” Collins said in a statement, per Fox News. “In recent years, Mr. Chipman has been an outspoken critic of the firearms industry and has made statements that demean law-abiding gun owners.”
The senator went on to criticize Chipman as a “divisive” pick who has potential to infringe on Second Amendment rights. read more
“”divisive” pick ” did she mean, divisive prick?
Me thinks Susan Collins, is up for re-election soon.
So she actually wants to support her constituents.
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
Over 50% of households in Maine has at least one firearm. Over 15,000 registered. That obviously doesn’t count guns passed to family members and such.
We also have one of the lowest crime rates in the country.
This is the one area she stays steady.
She actually announced she won’t run again so that isn’t why she isn’t voting for this whack job.
She is also from up north originally and spends time up there. That is Trump country and hunting is a huge business up north.
Plus, never trust a man who has no neck. Really creepy, like John Brennan.
Collins doesn’t want to get Murkowski’d, so she’s going to play the role of an actual conservative ’til after she’s safely re-elected. (Then it’ll be back to business-as-usual for her.)
Even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then, usually around election time.
