Cruz for President Campaign Asks Radio Stations to Pull False Attack Ads Running in Iowa

HOUSTON, Texas – The Cruz for President Campaign today sent a letter to Iowa radio stations requesting they stop running a false ad placed by America’s Renewable Future, a lobbyist group that wants to keep taxpayer subsidies going to the ethanol industry.

The ad falsely claims, “Politicians like Ted Cruz support subsidies for Big Oil, but want to end support for ethanol.”

“It is blatantly false to suggest that Sen. Cruz wants to end the Renewable Fuel Standard while maintaining subsidies for oil,” Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said. “Cruz has repeatedly stated that he would end all energy specific subsidies, both ethanol and oil among others.”

  1. Yes! Unlike all Democrats ever, Ted Cruz does not tell one audience one thing and the reverse to another audience.

“end all energy specific subsidies, both ethanol and oil among others”

  2. If proven that the association knowingly produced false ads and the radio stations failed to vet them or knew they were dishonest they should have to air apologies and a truthful ad in the same time slots and in the same number as the original false ads.

  3. FCC yank their broadcasting license? Naaah. . it was a “regrettable error” against a conservative politician. The station will stay on the air.

Not knowing the demographics of the area, I wonder if there are enough conservatives listeners out there, that if they all switched stations, this lyin’ station would go bankrupt?

  4. This is good. It’s a nice change.

Remember what the Republicans of yesterday did? They pumped their fists on CNN and screamed, “nuh uhhh!!!”
And then they sadly said, “You know, negative ads are so negative. We should stop them.” And then the Dems keep on going and Republicans don’t fight back.

  5. Like that’ll ever happen. The stations will call the Cruz campaign and sell air time for his rebuttal. More Money business model. I’ve worked in radio-TV for almost 40 years. Hunter Thompson was right.
