Television ratings for Biden’s State of the Union address take a nosedive

The Hill:

Less than 30 million people watched President Biden’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

The number of total viewers is down significantly from the 38 million who watched Biden’s speech last year and is almost half the 45.6 million who watched former President Trump’s first address in 2018.

On cable, Fox News topped all networks, notching 4.6 million viewers. It was followed by MSNBC, which brought in 3.5 million, and CNN, which netted 2.3 million.

Fox News also outpaced each of the major broadcast networks, including ABC, which brought in 4.4 million viewers, and NBC, which had 3.7 million.

Last year, Fox brought in a whopping 7.2 million viewers, followed by CNN at 4.8 million and MSNBC at 4.1 million. MORE

  1. A good number of people are smart enough to know that Joey Shartpants will lie his way thru anything. The rest of them are evil possessed idiots [demoncrats] that think Joey will save them from their own treachery.

  2. After 7 or 8 minutes of non stop lying and misrepresentation of reality, I had to quit. It was necessary to level out my blood pressure. And he’s really a piss poor public speaker, I mean like really really bad at it.

  3. If you can’t stand listening to him Breitbart and others usually post a transcript. Watching ‘I’m your man’ Steve Harvey and reruns of Family Feud was preferable to watching the pedo-in-chief. We did watch Sarah’s response and loved the normal vs. crazy.

  4. If only 30 million idiots watched joey’s baloney SOTU speech that means approximately 9% of the American people watched and the other 91% of normal American had better things to do by tuning out. Joey and his 9% of losers sucks, the 91 % rule the airwaves.

  5. nunyo bidness – Except for one thing – TV is increasingly catering to a narrowing segment of the United States as their ratings continue to plummet and people “cut the cable”

  6. nunyo bidness – the big Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) charge some of the highest rates to cable companies even tho not many people are watching them. When you have cable did you? (prob not). Cable companies would love to drop them but they can’t and as a result the Networks continue to jack up their astronomical fees! The programming alone should tell what their viewer demographics are (room temp IQs or less) and at some point something gotta give as the Nets suffer fewer and fewer viewers regardless of quality!

  7. TRF, legacy media know they no longer control the message, viewers are becoming few & far between, so I imagine they have to charge the big bucks just to keep the lights on
you are correct – in our house ABC, CBS, & NBC nooz was maybe seen for a couple seconds while changing channels
at this point, legacy media can’t report on what’s happening all around us because they’re in collusion bigly with the corrupt politicians, entertainment, education, etc. & would implicate themselves
    times ticking bitches
