Diogenes’ Middle Finger:
The data are not wrong, but it’s for reasons anyone with a basic understanding of nature can understand. It has nothing to do with race, but if you’re today’s media, everything has to be about race. So leave it to your taxpayer subsidized National Public Radio (NPR) to tout a report that says it tends to be hotter where minorities live.
“Across Baltimore, the hottest areas tend to be the poorest and that pattern is not unusual. In dozens of major U.S. cities, low-income neighborhoods are more likely to be hotter than their wealthier counterparts, according to a joint investigation by NPR and the University of Maryland’s Howard Center for Investigative Journalism.
Those exposed to that extra heat are often a city’s most vulnerable: the poorest and, our data show, disproportionately people of color….”
For all the attention NPR pays in its lead paragraphs to race and income levels, you have to read far into the story to find that NPR knows the real cause of the temperature disparities. read more
Climate change and critical race theory all rolled into one. I’ll give ’em credit for trying but a failing mark overall. SMDH
I’m surprised you sheeples didn’t know that.
Butt, it could be because ‘That’s HOT!’
Really? Arizona retirement communities are full of blacks?
So this would explain the presence of “Food Deserts” in the same communities.
It’s all becoming clearer.
Ergo, AFRICA is racist.
Oh, wait.
That’s *not* what they wanted me to think?
If politicians in cities weren’t so busy eagerly pandering to low-income citizens in a bid to shower them with free shit at every turn in exchange for votes while at the same time taxing the living hell out of higher-income citizens in order to continue giving away free shit then this would not be true.
If NPR took a second to account for the above they would declare politicians, particularly democrats, to be the real racists. On second thought, maybe they did think about this and that’s why the temperature is to blame.
As a purebred cracker, I take great pride in being wise enough to plant a few shade trees on my property.
Hmmmm, could maybe more trees and plants have something to do with it???
I lived for a few months in the San Fernando Valley, the hot part of L.A. I rented a condo in a complex that you can easily pick out on Google Earth because it is so dark with trees. When the temps were over 100 in the general area they were at least 10 degrees less where I lived, because of all the trees.
My guess is that ghettos don’t have a lot of trees and parks, or take good care of them. Whose fault is that???
Dan, it’s either that or the white people are leaving their doors open with the A/C on to cool off the entire neighborhood.
NPR is a lying POS.
Out of the middle of no where I turned
on a car radio and NPR came on.It was a black
radio commentator talking to some “expert” also
a black dude. The topic was “the myth of the missing
black father in the family”.When the truth is like
70%-75% of black babies are born out of wedlock…
Hopefully I will never turn on any of the some 150 radios that I own that cover 100 KHZ to 1 GHZ {1000 mhz} and hear NPR…
Pure comedy gold there TED NOUGAT.
What happened to the AMBOY DUKES ?
When those old beautifully maintained neighborhoods
were full of white European immigrants who never heard
of air conditioning things were fine. They slept on
porches and in parks to stay cool.
When ppl of color took them over and trashed them
suddenly they are too hot and they must have their
AC to stay cool and away from the racist heat, baby.
They closed the Baltimore schools today because it
was 93 degrees and some don’t have AC. What BS.
