Terror-linked CAIR Asks U.S. Marine Corps to Drop Books About Muhammad & “Arab Mind” From Reading List

Creeping Sharia: The Council on American Islamic Relations issued a press release titled:  CAIR Asks Marine Corps to Drop Islamophobic, Anti-Arab Books From Reading List.  The press release states in part:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the United States Marine Corps to drop two Islamophobic and anti-Arab books from a recommended reading list on its official website.

CAIR asked the Marine Corps to remove any reference to and perceived endorsement of the factually-incorrect and Islamophobic books, “The Truth About Muhammad: The Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion,” by Robert Spencer, and “The Arab Mind,” by Raphael Patai from the Marine Corps University Research Library website’s Military Reading Lists page, which links to the “HQMC Civilian Marine Reading Lists.”  MORE

  1. The leftists and all those like the muslims are free to run rampant around this country’s cities and college campuses attacking people and property. But if just 3 or 4 regular americans gather in some Arkansas woodland to shoot and practice defensive tactics, they are labels as extremists and infiltrated by FBI and charges of sedition are lodged. Seems a little out of balance don’t it?

  2. As an active duty combat Marine once told me, “an educated Marine is a deadly Marine”. This was in response to his request to me for any books I could send them on Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, etc. while they were deployed on a ship in the region.

Don’t expect any compliance from the Corps.

PS- finding books on that region was no small task. There aren’t that many.

  3. Raphael Patai was a super intelligent Jewish intellectual from Hungary who migrated to Palestine in 1939 to escape persecution. So obviously a right wing bigot.

I read his book “The Arab Mind” when I was with the 4th PSYOP Group in the mid 80s. It provides an essential easy to understand outline of the “subject” The real problem with the book is that the author is bending over backward to avoid giving offense, even as he accurately describes the basics

If you had relied on this book as your sole source of knowledge about Arabs, you would have been blindsided by every event in the Middle East of the past thirty years. He wasn’t being harsh enough.

One the other hand, the book “The Closed Circle: An Interpretation of The Arab Mind” by David Pryce-Jones nailed it. My first impression on reading this book in the Nineties was, “He’s being too hard on Arabs.” Recent history shows he was being spot on

  4. If you want to read a great book that describes our response to Arab terrorism, try “See Something, Say Nothing” by Philip Haney. Appeasing the Muslims (especially the Muslim groups in the USA) began with the Bush-43 administration and especially accelerated under the perfidious Ofucknuts.

CAIR, Muslim Brotherhood, Muslim Students Association, et. al. (there are dozens of groups) and they all sympathize with Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, al-Qaeda and the tactics of stealth jihad and stealth shariah. Ofucknuts and his cohorts (John Brennan, Valerie Jarrett, Huma Abedin who has family ties to Muslim Brotherhood) all should be tried and dealt with extreme prejudice.
