Texas: Abbott bans local government, schools from mask requirements

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the state plans to ban mask mandates by governmental entities, including local governments and public schools.

The executive order prohibits “governmental entities in Texas — including counties, cities, school districts, public health authorities, or government officials — from requiring or mandating mask wearing,” a press release states.

Local governments or officials that attempt to impose a mask mandate can be fined up to $1,000 beginning May 21. more

  1. The mask is becoming the Mark of the Beast in prog run areas in Texas. The totalitarian democrats and the wheezing legions of militant hypochondriac losers literally want mask mandates until the end of time and no sooner.

  2. This is Abbott playing games and pretending he is doing something to fool voters. There are bills to prevent corporations/businesses from mask mandates and forced vaccinations/passports dying on the vine stuck on purpose in congress. The government is NOT going to be the one enforcing passports and masks – that is going to be private corporations. But Abbott is owned by them, turning TX into CA bringing them all here and he won’t do anything to piss them off from any health protection, saving kids from trans mutilation (also 2 bills dead), etc.
