DC: Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers found $1.5 million in drugs at the World Trade Bridge on the U.S.- Mexico border over a two-day period.

The first seizure of the drugs occurred on Tuesday, according to a CBP press release on Saturday. A 1999 Freightliner tractor was examined and through a non-intrusive imaging system along with a canine inspection, officers discovered 70 packages of cocaine.

The second seizure happened on Thursday when nine packages of heroin were found. They were found in a 1995 Chevrolet pickup using the same inspection processes.

The combined street value of the drugs was nearly $1.6 million, according to CBP.
