Just the News: Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott has signed a bill that mandates all Texas schools have armed security.
The Republican governor signed the bill into law Tuesday, and it set to go into effect Sept. 1.
The new law would give $330 million to build security centers on campuses and will strengthen the state’s school safety center, a local Texas outlet reports.
The law also requires annual audits of school protocol and has all staff undergo mental health training.
Some residents say that this law is a great step in increasing protection for students in schools.
“I think if we have the good guys armed, I think it would minimize deaths,” San Antonio resident April Reyna said in an interview with KSAT.
’bout friggin time!!
When the armed guys showed up at Uvalde, they were all too afraid of getting shot to do anything.
The armed guard ran at Parkland.
Yes, its a positive step to SAY you’re going to have armed guards,
But means nothing if they aren’t carefully selected, well trained, proven under fire…
…AND CAN HAVE SOME CONFIDENCE THEIR EMPLOYER WON’T STAB THEM IN THE BACK IF THEY DO THEIR JOB EVEN IF IT MEANS THEY PUT DOWN A PROTECTED CLASS SHOOTER.
…if those conditions aren’t met, you’d be better off letting armed voulenteer parents roam the grounds.
…remember Uvalde and learn from it.

When the state sponsored armed guards don’t have enough to do they will strip search the kids for chewing bubble gum. Mark my words.
TX isd’s (independent school district) already have their own armed police force
Armed police is what I look for when choosing a school.
Said no sane person ever.
The fact that cops are necessary at schools nationwide is pretty sick.
Parents have to jump through hoops to enter schools, but anybody can go to a kids football game. Makes sense doesn’t it.
Grooming Abbott to run for president?
The armed worker from the mortuary was headed in right after the Uvalde entered the building. The police told him to go back inside.
When the marshals arrived, they were told they had to wait.
Uvalde was a total set up. Sat and waited for the fake news to show up, to interrupt all the major news channels.
I was always glad to see police at the schools in DC. I remember a school at O street and North Capitol that had 7 bullet holes in the main doors and burned out cars in the alley behind it.
My grandchildren go to school in Texas. I’d volunteer in a heartbeat to protect them.
I do a better job than those f**kwads in Uvalde.
Abolishing ALL government monopoly day prisons and restoring a fully competitive, free market in education, would be a far better solution. EVERY problem associated with the worthless government schools, is a direct result of the fact that the GOVERNMENT RUNS THEM. So now Abbott is going to turn them into even bigger prisons than they already are. GET YOUR KIDS OUT. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
How very federal of him – One size fits all legislation that covers not only Dallas, Houston and ElPisshole, but Frost TX (pop. 600) as well.
Why not let districts decide that for themselves?
