CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Republican Gov. Greg Abbott will face Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke in November’s general election in the race forTexas governor.
The AP on Tuesday evening projected that Abbott won the Republican nomination as he runs for reelection this year in the nation’s second-most populous and second-largest state.
The AP called the GOP primary race minutes after projecting that O’Rourke captured the Democratic nomination. The former congressman from El Paso – who came close to ousting Sen. Ted Cruz in the 2018 Senate election before unsuccessfully running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination — faced nominal opposition in his party’s primary. more

Gotta admit, I don’t like Abbott. I’d trust Col. West to watch my back, but Abbott I’d want out in front where I could keep my eye on him at all times.
I voted for West. Abbot shutting down the economy and no discussion on property taxes or getting rid of them. I didn’t think West could win, but I at least wanted him and Abbott to go toe-toe and debate these issues.
I’m more disappointed in another Bush being in the runoff for AG against Paxton. I wanted Ghomert for that.
West would have done what he could to stop the invasion. I am surprised he got only 12%?????

Even here in Maine all I saw on every single network, even conservative ones, was Abbott.

From here it looked like Abbott only started doing anything real about the border when the primary was getting close.
I voted for West. Abbott has been horrible. He shut down businesses and punished bars for a year. He had a mask mandate for 9 months. He has done nothing about the border and has a team of anti MAGA working with him. But he came out and acted like a conservative the last 6 months signing abortion law and open carry so apparently those efforts and his war chest allowing him to own advertising gave him the easy win. I found out my parents voted for him. Worse it seems Paxton is in a runoff with George P Bush. Bush and Abbott together – expect a total globalist agenda, a nightmare for Texas.
Abbott is a POS. Texas almost deserves Beto for the blatant disregard of WTF is happening. Seriously, why fuck around Texas, if you want shit leadership, buy the whole fucking cow.
Abbott has allowed over 2 million illegals to cross the border IN ONE YEAR. He’s encouraging a wholesale demography change and it’s gonna happen, bet your ass.
What WILL happen is the State House will be taken over by a half dozen large metro areas in Dallas, Bexar, Harris, Tarrant and Travis Counties. They will slowly crush the essence of Texas. I’ve seen this exact same thing play out in front of me in CO.
I guarantee I will see Texas turn purple in my lifetime(GW).

I know many gave their problems with Abbott but he’s hundreds of times better than the last fifteen governors we’ve had here in Connecticut.
