Chevrolet has introduced the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport at the Geneva Motor Show. Part Corvette Stingray, part Corvette Z06, it may be more appealing than both.

  1. GM is essentially out from under Obutthole’s thumb now, so I’d expect the new ‘Vette to be every bit the All-American sports car my 1988 was (my 40th birthday present to me).

  2. “The Vette actually gets a lot of good press from the auto trade magazines.”

When you dig deeper into the car review business. It’s clearly evident reviewers need to adhere to manufacturer talking points if they want to continue to review cars/trucks.

Unless the car is bought and paid for by the reviewer, the review is meaningless because it too was bought and paid for. Maybe not directly, but getting the latest $80k vehicle to flog for a week isn’t a bad incentive either.

  3. @ Burner, I honestly believe that the missing $17 Billion went towards the 3 Chinese plants that GM built recently I also think they plan on importing a new CUV/SUV to the U.S. from China..

  4. two things wrong with this car. 1) its built by leftist union thugs who stole GM and Chrysler from their rightful owners with the connivance of Obama. 2) it has shitty defective Michelin tires , a Frog company that also owns Uniroyal, a company that mfgrs shitty defective tires

  5. BAD ASS. Pure BAD ASS. Yes, I’m biased, I’ve been driving them since I turned 21 back in ’89. I am telling you, there is NOTHING short of sex that is more exhilarating than the low rumble of a Chevy small block, tunes cranked up on the radio, a warm day, and open road in a Corvette. NOTHING. Haters, foreign pansy car aficionados, and Ford drivers can bite me. As far as I’m concerned, rear wheel drive V-8 powered hot rods are practically a constitutional right.

  6. Government bailouts and politics aside, the Corvette is, and has been for some time, the best bargain among the so-called super cars. Performance equal to or better than a Porsche at 1/2 the price, and far, far cheaper to maintain. It’s performance is all the more remarkable considering it is OHV not OHC. You can have a Mustang (if you are a girl) that costs as much, but with nowhere near the performance. A viper might match it in acceleration but not in handling. Still Americas sports car.

  7. My wife insists we are ‘drivin’ everywhere in our limo type car. SUV.
One in front and one behind us at all times.
It has something to do with being sued. If we are driving and hit something
Or someone. It would be a huge financial hit.

I went the other way, just got a new 5.7, tieyota, the noises it makes are wonderful. I was hoping to wait another year or two, but then I started looking at trucks and don’t like the direction they’re all headed. Sure you may be able to get 420ft lbs out of a v-6, but who want’s to listen to one of those bang the rev limiter to do it?

  9. *Yawn* Another boring “supercar” I hate what they’ve done to all of the sports cars. They all look the same. A mishmash of style cues taken from other cars and no real style of its own. It looks nothing like a Corvette.

  10. Can’t really argue that; 67 was my favorite. I’ve owned 52 corvettes from ’62 fuelies to a ’96 LT4 roadster. Had a ’63 Z06, ’69 L88, couple ’65 L84’s. Triple black ’67 427/435 roadster was my favorite (it was on the cover of Vette Views June ’87, although after I owned it…)

But 97 up doesn’t do it for me. Probably because I got old.
