I am currently reading The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky the English translation by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky. On pg. 26 there is possibly the best definition of socialism that I’ve ever seen. Quote, “For socialism is not only the labor question or the question of the so-called fourth estate, but first of all the question of atheism, the question of the modern embodiment of atheism, the question of the Tower of Babel built precisely without God, not to go from earth to heaven but to bring heaven down to earth. Socialism at its core is just as spiritual as its opposite in the freedom that can only come for God which is what America was founded on. My book club is reading this led by one of my friends who is a history professor at Gonzaga University in Spokane. We tried reading it years ago at my request and it went over like a lead balloon, this time it will be better. And it was picked to be read over a one-year period as our book of the year.
IMO this report isn’t worth the toilet paper it takes to wipe my ass. Again this is just my opinion and I realize that few if any would agree with me.
I can be a proofreader if needed, the headline should’ve read have and not nave. I’m not trying to be picky, but the correct spelling of words is one of my pet peeves.
