For what its worth: Saddam claimed to have said weapons. The military (U.S. and others) kicked down his doors, and found….chemical WMD precursors, chemical WMD processing equipmemt, Chemical WMD contaminated storage containers. My source: a family member who was on the ground and tasked with locating and evaluating the findings.
So, did Iraq have chemical weapons? Yes. Did they have large stockpiles as claimed by Saddam? Not that we found.

There were quite a few soldiers that got the hospital ride to Germany because of mustard gas out of Bagram.
I never understood why none of that ever got reported.

Following up on the missing chemical weapons… after they weren’t found in Iraq though all the related parts and pieces were, the Syrians magically turned up with what, twelve hundred tons of the stuff? Like, really? That’s a lot for a little tiny outfit like Assad’s was. But, communist media said… no chemical weapons in Iraq, so there were… none!
