OC: One of the last places you would expect to find a real Italian prince is driving a food truck on the streets of Los Angeles, California. But that hasn’t stopped His Royal Highness Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, the only male heir of Italy’s exiled king, Umberto II, from trying his luck in the American mobile food business.
“I came to Los Angeles six months ago for an event and I realized there were various Mexican and Asian food trucks around,” the prince told Italian magazine, Chi. “I thought ‘why don’t I try it?’ With a food truck with fresh Italian pasta that is loved around the world.” So he bought himself a food truck, painted it in the colors of House Savoy and named it “Prince of Venice”, after one of his would-be titles which are not recognized by the Italian government. Pasta? Some of the best Mex you will ever eat are on these trucks by the beach. Dang good food. Pasta? Not me.
He’s got a good looking set up-I can only imagine the regulation nightmare hoops he had to jump through to get licensed.
Wait, don’t tell me…
The truck plays Purple Rain.
Do the fools in California realize they’re getting ripped off by being charged $15+ for a pasta entree?
Say what you will . . . but he’s working.

If he’s making fresh pasta and isn’t using the all purpose industrial red sauce that Americans know then it might be fantastic. Aglio olio, puttanesca, carbonara, primavera, etc. there is more to pasta than spaghetti
and meatballs.
You think that’s bad? The Queen of Kenya is shoveling out manure from the Oval Office of the White House.
😇
@Mr. Mxyzptlk:
It appears as though you and me are the only ones who get it. He comes to America and decides to become an entrepreneur. He buys a truck and hits the road. The only people who seem to hit the road are those EBT card holders blocking freeways so people like the Prince can’t do business. I hope he serves calzones on that truck!
@Goldenfoxx
Exactly – I applaud almost* anyone who works, especially entrepreneurs. I can’t imagine the hoops he had to jump through to get all his licenses, especially in California.
*The only “workers” I don’t celebrate are telemarketers.
A member of a “royal” family that is actually productive? Be still my heart.
Peculiar world, isn’t it? That guy comes from royalty, but comes here and starts a business instead of whining about his lost royal privilege. On the other hand, we have the America-hating, “you didn’t build that”, cop-hating, violence-fomenting, low-life O’Marxists hoovering up the taxpaying peons while living the a faux royal lifestyle while lecturing us how horrible we conservatives are.
He’d make more money juggling three running chainsaws.
I’ve had cheap pasta and fairly expensive pasta.
The best though, in my opinion, was “pasta milano” from Macaroni Grill. It’s just bowtie pasta, grilled chicken, alfredo sauce, and sun dried tomato. (basically)
Pure ambrosia. Have not had anything AS GOOD anywhere.
I bet he’ll do well if he has some really good stuff like that.
He is the epitome of the immigrant success story. And that my friends, is what America should be.
