In subpoenaing former Special Counsel Robert Mueller to testify before two House committees, Democrats have finally stretched the Russia hoax past its breaking point. It may go down as one of the greatest miscalculations of modern congressional politics.

There’s no two ways about it: Mueller’s testimony was an unmitigated disaster for the Democrats. Every new revelation that came out during the hearings contradicted some element of the narrative they’ve desperately pushed over the past three years, right down to the original “collusion” conspiracy theory.

Making matters even worse for Jerry Nadler and his fellow Democrats, Bob Mueller was clearly not the right man to provide  authoritative answers about the report that bears his name.

If one thing became clear over the hours of testimony Wednesday, it’s that Robert Mueller was likely a mere figurehead throughout the Special Counsel investigation that he ostensibly led. At various points during his testimony, Mueller appeared unfamiliar with the material in his own report, unwilling to discuss public statements that were put out in his name, and uncertain of what his subordinates were even doing for the 22 months that the investigation was ongoing.

Astute observers have suspected from the moment the Office of the Special Counsel was staffed with blatantly partisan Democrat “investigators” that former FBI Director Mueller wasn’t really at the helm. It seemed to them—and millions of other Americans—that the rabidly anti-Trump team was really being led by Mueller’s second-in-command, close Hillary Clinton ally Andrew Weissman.

Those suspicions got a huge boost over the course of Mueller’s testimony. The putative head of this investigation couldn’t even provide a good explanation for why so many clearly compromised and biased individuals were hired to conduct such a sensitive investigation.

It wasn’t just Weissmann, who reportedly may have colluded with a Ukranian oligarch to get dirt on President Trump’s inner circle. The bias wasn’t even limited to the 12 other registered Democrats on Mueller’s team, several of whom had actively supported Hillary Clinton. more here

  4. I have to laugh when I think of all of the radio stations which preempted their entire day’s programming in order to broadcast this debacle. Rush, I hope you’re keeping score.

  6. As hilarious as Mueller’s testimony was, the whole thing is no laughing matter. Mueller, Schiff, Pelosi, Naddler, et al, just placed into record with “testimony” a major portion of AG Barr’s case against them all.

  7. I know how Mueller feels. In 7th grade, I took a science report that a girl gave me, cut the top off all the pages (her name) and handed it in as my own because I was too lazy to do my own. I didn’t even read it. The science teacher asked me a couple of questions and it was painfully obvious that I DID NOT WRITE it.
    But I was 13 and not head of a Special Council. I would expect an adult to actually read the damn report that bears his name.

  10. Besides Mueller looking like Capt Pike in the black box wheelchair from Star Trek, the Democrats looked like a one trick pony for the most part. All they kept doing one after another was bringing up McGhan and repeating the same allegations over and over again until the 2nd act.

    Plus every Dem finishing with “if this was a regular citizen obstructing a criminal investigation they would be in jail right now” & “nobody is above the law” nonsense. It reminded me of a Rush montage when he would play 20 different journalists all parroting the same daily talking point as given to them by the DNC.

    How anybody on their side thought this was a good plan is ridiculous. They certainly pulled the football away on their base yet again.

  20. I don’t know what you all are watching but the media reports I’ve seen on PBS, CBS, ABC claim the dems got Trump on “obstruction” and impeachment is imminent.

    HOW CAN YOU EXCUSE THE CONSISTENT FALSEHOODS, SLANDER and CONSTANT MISREPRESENTATION BY THE MEDIA (functioning as one cooperative propaganda machine)THAT HAS CONTINUED FOR TWO GENERATIONS???!!!

    When it is finally revealed who obama truly is, how much the Clintons have looted, why the Supreme Court is a sad joke, how the Presidential debates were coached and biased by the moderators… etc, etc… will the “Russians” be blamed for all that?

  22. I felt sorry (kinda … sorta … well, like for the crook who gets stuck in the chimney) for Mr. Mueller.
    He looked and spoke like he’d had a stroke or was doped to the gills or drunk.
    His handlers had to keep pointing him in the correct direction.
    I’ve been in 2141 Rayburn (one of the two “Standing Committees”) and it ain’t so big that you’d get lost looking for whoever was speaking to you.

    …due to the fact it was created by a Marine Biologist, “Spongebob” is the one with more basis in fact, and less bizarre-looking characters, too…

  27. I do believe we should exercise some care in pointing out what a bumbling buffoon is Mr. Mueller. This may indeed be a ploy to get the conclusions of the special prosecutors office thrown out and then begin a new round of special prosecution. If he is and was incompetent it would certainly be grounds to start over.

  28. @Roman V — You bring up a rather important point. When Barr tells the rest of the world that this was a set up from front to back, and everyone knew it, all the money spent on a special counsel hoax needs to be paid back to the American taxpayers.
