Better seared with olive oil, garlic & balsamic vinegar on the BBQ!
Sorry, I’m Italian. We eat everything!

One of the smartest incredible critters on earth….
Period…
And YES I have eaten them…Italian style…with vinegar.
Too rubbery now that I think about it…so I’m done now…!

I prefer them in the sea. Haven’t eaten octopus or squid since I was little. Never liked the taste. I don’t care how much wine you put on them, it’s still octopus and squid. lol

Royalty of the ocean – their blood is blue. I think I read that somewhere. Maybe wikipedia. If it’s false don’t blame me.

My faves for seafood: Chilean Toothfish, Atlantic Salmon, Arctic Char, Steelhead Trout (OK lake fish), John Dory, and Abalone.
Abalone was on a lot of menus 30+ years ago. Now its hard to get. Overfished, whatever. The last time I had it, around 1987, it was priced at $80.00 per entree.

…there’s a giant aquarium building in NKY where they used to have an octopus on display, and some largish crabs on display in the same part of the building. They were situated in a way that the crab tank was in a wall 90 degrees to the octopus tank so they could see each other, but there were several tanks between them, all apparently open topped behind the wall.
The aquarium noticed that they were losing crabs, one at a time, and had no idea how. They thought someone was stealing them (someone tried to smuggle lorikeets out in their pants not too long before), so they set up cameras in the employee side of the tanks so they could monitor the open tops.
That’s how they saw the octopus emerge from his tank, scuttle without hesitation to the rab tank, catch and eat one, and return to his own tank.
Those things are vicious.
They are also smart…

Love the video of the octopus. Can’t stand to listen to the lisping boy and his girlish upspeak.

Still believe they are undercover extraterrestrials. 😉

When I was a kid we called them “bait”.
