  1. Sorry about the loss of your Goldie. We lost our female Goldie Sam about 5 yrs. ago because of accidental poisoning. Replaced her a couple months later with another Goldie who was 3 months old at the time, named Indie. Other than collies Golden retrievers are my favorite type of dogs. And maybe beagles, but they need lots of room to roam, which I don’t have.

  2. Ciera was there to meet Emily LadyGun. Hugs.

It is so incredibly noble of you BigFurHat for you to memorialize our dogs when they pass on to Heaven.

I am crying right now over Ciera. Sigh…

  3. So sorry for your loss, LadyGun.

Take comfort in knowing Emily’s happy and free of pain and romping like a puppy with her new friends.
I’m sure my old Hogan is there to welcome her, along with the other IOTW critters.

  4. Emily and my Bailey can keep each other company, LadyGun. Bailey’s been there a while and can show her the ropes. I am so sad for you, and so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is a hard, hard thing. I know you were a great Mom to her and she a great dog to you.

  5. The way we feel when we lose a loved family member is how God feels when we sin.

It isn’t meant to be easy. It’s there to matter, that’s why it is so painful.

  6. LadyGun, I know exactly how heartbroken you are. My beloved golden retriever, Booker, passed unexpectedly Tuesday evening. I am truly sorry for your loss and share your grief.

  7. So sorry about your loss. We lost our Indian Ringneck Parrot of 7 1/2 years on March 13th. She is thought to have been 12 but maybe older since she was adopted and no info on her. It was horrible and I still having a hard time…Again condolences to you. Your baby was a very pretty dog!

  8. My condolances on your loss. I’m sure she was welcomed at Rainbow Bridge by Lady, Snoopy and Suki and all the others. She plays and naps and will wait for you.

  9. Aww man…look at that cutie pie.

    🙁

    So sorry for your loss.
I would love to hear a story about her someday when you are up to it. Maybe in a Sunday critter post…

  10. Again, thank y’all so much for your kind words. I think I cried all my tears last night after she passed. It comforts me to know she is free of pain and disease now.

@VaGal: I am so sorry for the loss of your baby, Booker. Aren’t goldens just some of the best dogs?

    @riverlife_callie: I LOVE that video!

@serfer62: I still have two other dogs, a handsome 80-lb mutt named Jake and a gorgeous 150-lb Saint Bernard. Had Emily been my only dog, I wouldn’t have waited long to get another one. There are so many dogs out there who need good homes.

  11. LadyGun12…..I have 3 Goldies at present….My red guy, Billy, is Irish Setter Red and will turn 7 in a few weeks….75lbs of “full throttle” knucklehead!

I’ve lost 2 retriever at the age of 6 to cancers……It can really tear at your heart.

  12. My condolences, LadyGun. Emily looks like she led a good life. I’m sure your other doggies miss her as much as you do.

My chocolate lab Duke is going to be 5. 5!! I know one day he will be gone and it will destroy me, but I’m doing all I can to enjoy his company now. It seems like you do the same with yours, LadyGun. I’m sure sure Emily is telling all of the other dogs in Heaven what a wonderful human you are.

  13. I’m late to the thread but, wish to express my sympathies to you. Been on vacation in Florida. No BFH sightings as of late. Time will soften the wound in your heart and you will reminisce the good times with your buddy, with out the heart ache. Again, I am so sorry.
