The Toraja people of Indonesia often wait to bury their dead for years, decades

 Sun UK:

How a one million strong tribe keep their dead relatives at home, feeding and cuddling their rotting bodies.

The Toraja people of Indonesia often don’t bury their deceased loved ones for years – or even decades.

CUDDLING up to Arel, her six year-old sister, Clara stares directly at the camera for a picture.

It has the makings of a sweet family mantelpiece portrait – however, one of the girls is dead.

In a mountainous area of Indonesia, the Toraja people mummify the bodies of the deceased and care for their preserved bodies as though they are still living.

There are around one million Torajan people, most of whom live in the South Sulawesi region, who believe that after death the soul remains in the house so the dead are treated to food, clothing, water, cigarettes.

Their skin and flesh are preserved from decaying and rotting – which begins within days of death – by a coating of a chemical solution called formalin, which is a mixture of formaldehyde and water.

The stench is strong, so the family will store lots of dried plants beside the body to mask the odour.

WARNING: There are lots of disturbing photos at the links below that you cannot un-see.

There are images of  family members taking selfies with dead relatives, posing with them, changing their outfits (and accessories) and smoking cigarettes with them.

  1. We do the same as witness Harry Read, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Hillary Clinton, and Crazy Bernie Sanders! Dead but not buried nor forgotten (plus our dead get to vote for generations)!

  2. But… you know… if we put a few dozen of them in an apartment block… you know… together… in flyover dumpland… they’ll be rocket surgeons by the next… you know… election. Just like the filthy drunk Irish. I mean… you know… like magic. I mean… you know… Science!

  3. skipping the photos just like I used to cover my eyes when we finally got a glimpse of Norman Bates’ mother–well I did peek at that one eventually, but later on that one became laughable. Still, we cannot “unsee” and no need to desensitize myself to this right now

Just thinking in some jurisdictions there may be family groups like this still receiving social security and voting?

  4. Are you sure that isn’t the Usa-CON-gress tribe?

I saw Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Waters, the caucus who went to see Beyoncé, Feinstein, Sanders, and even a few outsiders like RBG, Bill Clinton, Reid, HRC.

  5. Have not watched The Walking Dead since S02E02. Got really disenchanted by being forced to feel empathy for the ridiculousness special effects created. Which is also why I stopped watching the MSM over a decade before. ‘Member ‘Wag the Dog’?
    Pretty much foretold the future.
Robert De Niro being a phony uneducated greedy undeserving prick.
