The Ultimate Fake News

Powerline: Fake news is a serious problem in our political life. I’m not referring to a pathetically small number of Facebook ads bought by Russian provocateurs. I’m talking about the fake news that was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee; fabricated by Democratic Party-allied consultants; propagated by the FBI and the CIA; promoted by the broadcast networks, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Associated Press; trumpeted by pretty much every senior elected Democrat; and kept alive by the appalling Robert Mueller. The claim that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to “steal” the 2016 presidential election is the great fake news of our time.

How successful have the Democrats been in propagating that myth? This survey by The Economist and YouGov suggests that they have been successful beyond their wildest dreams. First the numbers, then some observations. Click to enlarge:

Note the question asked: Did Russia “tamper with vote tallies in order to get Donald Trump elected President?” There is no evidence–I repeat, none–that Russia “tampered with vote tallies.” To my knowledge, no one has claimed that Russia tampered with vote tallies. I am not aware of any plausible theory on which a foreign power could tamper with vote tallies. To say that Russia tampered with vote tallies is as credible as asserting that the moon is made of green cheese.

And yet, two-thirds of Democrats say it is either “definitely true” (31%) or “probably true” (36%) that Russia tampered with vote tallies. Women are especially gullible; 48%, across all party lines, have fallen for this fake news. Sadly, 70% of blacks have bought it hook, line and sinker. The Northeast is the country’s most ignorant region, apparently: 47% of Northeasterners have fallen for the hoax.  MORE

  1. This is how you break thru the hold of fake news

Point out that Russia has never been charged with interfering with an election in the West before. Then point out that Russia is an oil exporter

Then you ask, “How likely is it that an oil exporting country would collude with the ONLY politician in the West who supports fracking .. which increases the supply of oil and lowers the price. It’s not likely at all, is it? In fact it is ABSURD in the extreme to even suggest that Putin would go out of his way to help Trump

That’s why there has been no evidence of collusion after two years of “investigation” by a team of Democratic All-Star attorneys. Because there’s obviously nothing there, and they knew that from the start. Tell me how I’m wrong about this

You dont have to take Trump’s word for it. Objective reality demands that you believe it. And if that means that you have to believe that the entire Democratic party and the entire Main Stream Media has been lying their asses off every hour of every day for the last two years …. Well, what other conclusion is possible? Tell me

  2. So, is the democrat party “evil”? I don’t know for sure. They certainly do evil things, and support evil causes. One thing is for certain though; they have no honor. None whatsoever. Which means their aim is to win at ANY cost. The sooner the Pollyanna RNC figures this out the better for the country.

  3. Victory is not a “cost” it is a “gain.”

“What profit a man if he gain the whole world, but lose his soul?”
Nothing. But that man does not believe in the immortality of the soul.
That man rejects God. That man places himself on God’s Throne. His nihilism leads him to the most vile, bestial cruelties, and infamies. Torture and death are the due of those who oppose his insanities.

Yes. There is no “cost” beyond them to win the world – as long as other pay that cost and the gains accrue to them. History is replete with these sick monsters. History is also replete with the ignorant maggots who follow and enable them.

  4. And why wouldn’t people think so when they can see republicans blathering away about not interfering with the probe. The usual crowd of never Trumpers along with guys like Miss Lindsey give it undue credibility. The whole country is writhing with vipers.

  5. Don’t forget that these stories are perpetuated without the media’s favorite line against Republican–“without evidence.”

How much different would the Russia story, or the Kavanaugh allegations story, have been if every time the media related the accusations, they included the phrase, “without any evidence.” Public opinion would have dismissed both allegations long, long ago.
