Stars and Stripes: ALI AL SALEM AIR BASE, Kuwait — Army veterinary technician Spc. Joseph Neitz shined the ultraviolet beam of his blacklight on the desert sands, yielding a fluorescent turquoise glow that confirmed the presence of his quarry.
The scorpion-hunting former Marine had encountered one of the world’s most dangerous species of the stinging arachnid. But the Arabian fat-tailed scorpion did not run away. Instead, it raised its pincers and arched its venomous tail at Neitz, as if to challenge him. more
DISTURBING:
“the base does not have antivenom…”
They really are giving everything to V. Zelenskyy FFS.
Scorpion hunts…what an appealing idea! If I were there I’d have a hard deciding whether I’d want my resin-embedded trophy undamaged, or with spilled guts and a body crushed with recognizable GI boot tread marks. Very cool either way, though!
Kuwait is a “dry” country with very few hookers so these guys must find alternative sources for entertainment…nothing more than that
Just go out in the daytime and turn rocks over. Problem solved.
They can’t get chickens?
Scorpions and camel spiders. Yeah, uhhh…I’m afraid I’d have to turn that particular part of the desert into glass. Just to be sure….
Another reason that area of the world is a shit-hole. If it wasn’t for the oil the entire middle east would be a giant sand pit with a few ignorant mooselimb nomads wandering around on camels, sleeping in tents and killing each other, just like they did for thousands of years prior to around 1950.
And to think when I was there we just hunted snipe…
You grab it by the Tail and Toss
It is not Rocket Science
Even the Kids can do it
If shotguns aren’t allowed, I ain’t playing…
Damn! I miss out on all the fun!
