They can’t call the cops because, “justice reform”. lol

New Yorkers have no shock over fate of ‘community refrigerator’ in Queens.

BPR: Vandals ransacked a community refrigerator that was set up in front of the local office of a Queens, New York, politician to provide free meals to the poor or needy.

Local businesses had donated food for the sidewalk refrigerator that volunteers stocked throughout the day with meals, fruits, and vegetables, which benefited hundreds of the constituents of state senator Jessica Ramos, a Democrat who also represents the Working Families party. In their wake, vandals left food and containers on the ground and destroyed the doors and the electrical grid of the appliance.

On Twitter, Ramos explained that “The community fridge outside our district office was vandalized and destroyed last night. So many of our neighbors depend on the generosity of other neighbors to get through these difficult times. Now this lifeline is gone. I’m heartbroken.” more

SNIP: Or you could just open the city back up so people can work to earn money for food.
Asshole.

  1. …the FBI is investigating and will convict the nearest person in a MAGA hat for the environmental sin of unauthorized freon release, you can be sure about THAT…

  2. Freon, I thought they banned it years ago because it destroyed the Ozone in the upper atmosphere of the earth. The believers in so called globull warming need to be forced to listen to an endless track of Commander Cody’s album, Lost In The Ozone Again. And wouldn’t all the dope these idiots smoke also contribute to destroying the planet?

  3. Vandals?
    Really?

How can you tell? NYC is a cesspool of miscreants, deviants, communists, perverts, hobos, and self-righteous shit-heads. The “Po Fokes” may have just had a Chuck-E-Cheese moment and the fridge got the worst of it. de Blasio may have had a “Big Mac Attack” as he was choomin down the avenue, and the passion carried him away.

    Who knows?
    Shame to blame Vandals.

“That’s why I keep my refrigerator inside”

…funny thing is, in the country, you don’t have to. It is not uncommon well away from the big cities to see deep freezes and refrigerators outside, sometimes for convenience, sometimes due to the house size, and sometimes because people are actually proud that they were able to afford appliances and do so to brag to the neighbors. These are sometimes very simply locked, sometimes just with a bolt and nut, enough to keep animals at bay but with no real fear of humans getting into them.

It does help that houses of this type are usually well set back from the road, generally without sidewalks, and there aren’t very many folks in the neighborhood that are not known to all the other folks in the neighborhood, so it’s tough for a stranger to randomly walk by and simply reach out to commmit some mayhem. His approach would likely be seen and heard, dogs would announce a stranger on the porch, and there’d be a shotgun inside just for unexpected strangers.

…so no, the problem isn’t that the refrigerator is outside, the problem is that the people around it are allowed to do whatever the hell they want without consequences.

That COULD be fixed, but Democrats are certainly not interested in doing so, and Republicans are more than happy to welcome our new pedophile overloard so it’s not likely to improve any time soon…

  5. Musta pissed them off when no fast food was available out of the frig. This is what happens when the word “free” is posted. It was a good idea for a while – until it became a bad idea. Obviously they bite the hand that feeds them.
