Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has been forced to walk back his recent calls for the Electoral College to be abolished.
During a California fundraiser earlier this week, Walz declared that “the Electoral College needs to go.”
Walz was at the private Sacramento home of California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday when he spoke about the process by which U.S. presidents are elected.
According to a pool report at the event, Bloomberg reported that Walz demanded a “national popular vote” instead.
“I think all of us know the Electoral College needs to go,” Walz said.
“We need a national popular vote, but that’s not the world we live in.”
After Walz made the remarks, the Harris campaign insisted that it was not the vice president’s stance on the matter. more

For him to say that must mean he thinks the voting system is not working the way it should, which is true, but inadmissible in the liberal court of opinion.

As Governor he signed hus state into the Electoral College wrecking Popular Vote Compact, thereby agreeing to disenfranchise his rural voters and everyone who doesnt live in a giant city.

Getting rid of the Electoral College would take an amendment to the constitution. which will never be ratified by 3/4 of the states.
Everything Walz knows about the electoral college he learned from bumper stickers.
They would do it if they ever got the chance. They just don’t want you to know about it. It’s not like they give a damn about the Constitution, or anything.
I love how with Trump, the media specifically refuses to show his comments in their entirety thus distorting what he said (“…fine people on both sides….”) but with Dems someone has to come back and say “What he clearly and unequivocally said was not what he meant nor what he thinks about the subject” because those comments went over like a lead balloon.
