Travis Scott’s Astroworld Tragedy Under Criminal Investigation as Death Toll Rises to 9

Tatum Report: Last Friday’s catastrophe at Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert is now under criminal investigation. More details have been released about the crowd surge, which resulted in nine people dead and hundreds injured. Also, a 9-year-old boy was hospitalized and is in an induced coma. More than 50 lawsuits have been filed to date.

An investigation into whether or not all safety protocols were followed is underway. The operational plan for the event did not include anything about crowd surging, a common occurrence in packed crowds. The lawsuits claim that organizers failed to take simple crowd-control steps and staff the event properly.

Houston’s police and fire departments maintain that they fully completed their duties but faced disunity from event authorities.

Houston Police had warned Scott and his team prior to the show that there could be problems. They also notified event staff of the serious problem just minutes after Scott took the stage.  more

  1. No wait, it turns out they all died of covid.

The people who were only injured are all super spreaders. They should be arrested, unless they die of covid before the cops can round them up.

  2. I don’t know a thing about how these events are marketed, but I did read that there was an intentional social media broadcast of some sort, telling about the event and encouraging people to overwhelm the concert. I don’t know how it works, but the call was to come to concert venue with or without a ticket for entrance. Is that a thing, now?

  3. Is “Conducting a Rap ‘Concert'” a felony yet? No? Why not?

If they toss Travis in the Big House, maybe he could perpetrate another concert, kick off a riot, and we could all see an Ecuadorian Prison Extravaganza.

As @Zonga said, they could all “enjoy” a little cannibalism.

  4. At a different concert, he had the audience beat up some guy in the crowd because as he was being passed around, a guy took his shoe or bumped it off of Travis’ foot and he got mad. So dumb.

People went knowing full well what an asshole he is.

  5. ?Houston’s police and fire departments maintain that they fully completed their duties but faced disunity from event authorities.”

While the second part of that statement is undoubtedly true, the first part is absolute bullshit ass-covering. There is video of the cops taking selfies during the “concert”. If they had “fully completed their duties”, they would have stopped the concert.
