Breitbart: Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle,” fill-in host Jason Chaffetz asked Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) for his evaluation of his colleague House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) as leader of the House of Representatives.
Gowdy offered a glowing assessment by saying there was no one “better qualified” to fill that role than Ryan and described the Wisconsin Republican as smart, principled, inclusive and reluctant.
“Jason, there are a lot of good members of Congress and my co-guest tonight is one of my favorites,” Gowdy said. “But I bet you [Rep.] Johnny [Ratcliffe (R-TX)] when I say there is no one better qualified to be Speaker of the House than Paul Ryan. He has every quality that you want in a leader. He is smart. He is principled. He is inclusive. And most importantly, he is reluctant. He did not want to be the Speaker of the House. He wanted to be the chairperson of the Ways and Means [Committee].”
“But when Kevin McCarthy dropped out of the speaker’s race, we had no one to turn to,” Gowdy continued. “So we went and said, ‘Will you lead us?’ And he reluctantly did so. He is the smartest kid in the class. He would be my number one draft choice if I were starting this government all over again. I don’t know how long he wants to remain as speaker, but he’s done us a favor by taking the job, and I can’t think of anybody that could do the job as well as he’s doing it right now.” Video
I saw this last night. I just marked it up as another example of Gowdy being a typical establishment hack despite all his “conservative” bluster.
He says that because they are both on the same team. Very reluctant to board the Trump Train.

When Gowdy says this about Ryan being “smart, principled, inclusive and reluctant,” it means there ain’t gonna be anybody going to prison under Gowdy’s fake investigative performances in the House. It appears that US Congress is all inclusive corruption using its powers to allow government criminality!
Makes you wonder how many Senators fornicate each other.
Howdy Gowdy is, and long has been, a disappointment. Talks a good game, does little.
But, in Howdy Gowdy’s favor, he holds the all-time record for hairstyle changes in the House.
And that is why Senators are the worst choices for POTUS or VP.
They believe talking is getting things done. Outside of government, these types are called BS artists.
Or as we said in my Navy days, “A bent shit-can would be a suitable replacement.”
Democrats and Republicans pretend to hate each other. Then in the washroom they wash each others hands. That is why, boys and girls, nothing ever gets done.

He’ll be ripped on by local talk radio next week when the regular hosts get back. P.S.-(a bit OT) If you want to watch the funniest local tv news interview EVER type in “mayor sallie peake” to a search. The interview was too funny, but this is the woman that got Gowdy state wide attention before his run. The only reason her idiocy wasn’t funny was that it could have cost police officers their lives. At least he squared her away.

Proving, beyond doubt, that Gowdy is a fraud. Otherwise some indictments would have come from his so called “investigation” of Clinton. Instead, it was all just Kabuki theater.
one or two thoughts, then I will STFU about it. In case everyone did not know, NOBODY wanted the Speaker job! Ryan did not, but after some personal deliberation and a lot of cajoling her acquiesced. Trey Gowdy represents the 4th district of the State of South Carolina and sits on the house oversight committee. Now I could be way off base here, but I do not believe that a Congressman (oops person) has the legal power or the responsibility to arrest, confine, beat, execute, cane or otherwise punish ne’er do wells. We are aware that every one of these committees is staffed by both sides of the political “isle”, so I for one, am glad that there are a few up there on Capital Hill willing to call out the rats and force them into the light of day….. just sayin’
