Troysgate Shoot House in Lenoir, SC is one of the most amazing and realistic gun training possible.
Troysgate’s Weapons Firing Range System and Apparatus Employing Reflected Imagery is patented comprising products and methods, referred to as the Troysgate Theater, provide a safe and controlled live-fire environment that serve as the stage and backdrop for conducting live performances with unlimited applications and possibilities. Each production is carefully constructed and orchestrated placing the Operator center stage in the leading role with real actors in supporting roles as the role players. The instructor/trainer, RSO, role players, safety, operational and technical personnel work together as a team to closely monitor and provide direction and support to produce a realistic, high intensity production that challenges the performance of the Operator and provides a lasting, meaningful and personal life changing experience.

I would like to do something like that – looks like very useful training.
I read an article by Bearing Arms (I think) on this place a couple months back, with a lot more videos. They are definitely on to something. They should franchise their system.
Simulated real world exercises with live ammo.
Muscle memory, threat scenario experience and immediate feedback..
Excellent.
I’ve been looking for a program like that. I hope I don’t have to go all the way to South Carolina for it.
Joe,
What’s available right now are the Simulators. Some are better than others. Some even have CO2 cartridges is their little fake guns to simulate recoil. Some programs even include an instructor screaming in your ear to help create a panicked environment. Other live fire course will drill you with pop ups and shoot don’t shoot targets. All good stuff. This is the only program I’ve ever heard of like this though. Lot’s and Lot’s of time behind the gun is still necessary. You already need that muscle memory by the time you get there. You’re not going to learn that with 50 rounds.
Brad, thanks again for your continued input on this subject. I have found some help locally, it turns out one of my neighbors is a retired detective ( I did know he was a detective but he tries to keep a low profile) and a past firearms instructor. We have gotten along pretty good lately. He doesn’tt care for going to the only local range much, he has volunteered there for a few years but is tired of it. They keep trying to get him back.
Joe, Don’t know how close you are to this place better the defensive handgun courses are supposed to be top notch. They’re in Oregon.

Or, we can meet at Front Site. We could stay with MJA. LOL
Brad, I was thinking the same thing, I bet MJA would love to have us.
Cool beans technology, I’d never be
able to afford it however.
