Trudeau Tries To Dissuade New Quebec Premier From Banning Hijab In Public Service

Daily Caller: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau failed to move Quebec’s new premier from his objective of banning the hijab in the provincial public service.

As Global News reports, François Legault spoke with Trudeau as the two traveled to Armenia to attend a Francophonie summit that brings together French-speaking nations from around the world.

Legault believes banning the hijab and other religious symbols on the job is a popular policy with Quebec voters. “I think it’s about time we listened to Quebecers,” Legault told reporters.

Not everyone in the province agreed, especially those who organized a protest last Sunday.

However, Legault says a crucifix will stay in the Quebec legislative building because “it’s part of our history.”

Legault insisted, “I think that we have to understand our past. In our past we had Protestants, Catholics, they built the values we have in Quebec.”  read more

  1. Trudeau the Younger is going to be shit out of luck with the new Quebec premier. He and his whole party truly hate Trudeau but like Canada (well mostly). He and Ford (the new Ontario premier) ought to get along fine while Trudeau and the federal liberals are starting to update their resumes.

  2. Like the left everywhere, they work feverishly to accommodate the new “citizens” and trash their traditional countrymen. It’s amazing they have the amount of support that they do, it’s puzzling why people are so self destructive.
