Daily Caller: President Donald Trump’s administration is pushing back on a media report that claimed no new walls had been built along the southern border with Mexico.
The Daily Mail published a story on Thursday that said the Trump administration has built “ZERO new walls despite claiming otherwise for months,” citing a statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spokesman Roger Maier.
Maier told the British publication that the “first new wall project, where no barrier currently exists, is anticipated to start in April.”
A senior administration official took issue with the Daily Mail’s framing. Building walls where there were gaps or only small or ineffective non-wall barriers before is, by definition, building new walls, that official told The Daily Caller News Foundation on Friday.
Maier also released a statement to TheDCNF on Friday, stating that the administration has built “new border wall,” where non-wall barriers had previously existed.
“CBP has built and continues to build new border wall along the Southwest border. To date, CBP has built 38 miles of new border wall system in San Diego and Calexico, California, Santa Teresa, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas,” Maier said. more here
…Sorry, English, you must be thinking of the LAST guy, “”Obama”, who got HUNDREDS of BILLIONS in stimulus money and didn’t do ANYTHING useful with it, but DID promote himself with it.
…I remember one occasion when he was pimping for the stimulus well. He came to Cincinnati for a couple of reasons to do so.
One was that Cincinnati at the time had a mayor that was a “mini-me” of “Obama” – a corrupt, young, effeminate Black lifetime politician who did nothing for the area, had a member of the Black police organization “The Sentinels” as a city-paid personal bodyguard (which NO Cincinnati mayor had ever done before) because he was a personal coward who would be unable to defend himself against the children in the City he ran, and also could NOT throw a baseball just like “Obama”.
Another was that he could have a major bridge, called locally the Brent-Spence bridge (named for another corrupt Democrat politician, but that’s a different subject) that carries I-75 across the Ohio river in the background, as a prop for what he would supposedly spend the stimulus ON.
The Brent-Spence actually IS deteriorating AND functionally obsolete, and DID need replacement. THAT part was no lie.
…Thing is, it STILL needs replacement. More than EVER. “Obama” didn’t do it.
“Obama” got his stimulus, and NOTHING was done. I don’t think anyone even ACCOUNTED for it.
We didn’t even get any of those crappy “Recovery.gov” signs that “Obama” used in the Smokies so people would see that he bought the National Parks he kicked them out of earlier some toilets.
Side note – it was also inappropriate for him to go to Ohio for this. The Brent-Spence belongs to KENTUCKY. But, Kentucky had White Republican politicians in the area at the time, and “Obama” wanted a picture of him standing next to a local Democrat who looked like his son, so…

This is more of that ‘control the narrative’ crapola BS.
They are (not so) obviously considering the replacement of existing fence with wall as not being the construction of ‘new’ wall. The fencing that does exist is where it is on purpose- the most heavily traveled sections, and it’s replacement first makes the most sense, practically speaking, as it is deficient. The goal of msm reporting as such, must be in order to create ‘bad optics’ for border control.
But, thinking about it, I like their approach. I can work with it. If what has been built thus far is not considered ‘new wall,’ then what is yet to come will only result in there being more ‘new’ wall than originally thought, I’m fine with them reporting it as they do, inaccurate as it is- it results in more wall, and a more secure border. I think President Trump probably knows that, too.
