JTN: President Donald Trump Monday calls for the Keystone XL pipeline to be constructed
Trump had approved the permit for the project in his first term. Among his first actions upon taking office, former President Joe Biden canceled the project. In a Congressionally-mandated report, the Department of Energy revealed in January 2023 that ending the federal permitting process for the project cost as much as 59,000 jobs and $9.6 billion in economic activity.
In a post on his Truth Social platform Monday, Trump said Biden had “viciously jettisoned” the project and called for it to be built immediately.
“I know they [the pipeline owners] were treated very badly by Sleepy Joe Biden, but the Trump Administration is very different — Easy approvals, almost immediate start! If not them, perhaps another Pipeline Company. We want the Keystone XL Pipeline built!” Trump said. more
But we’re on our way to energy self-sufficiency! Energy dominance! Will we be using the Keystone XL to pump our extra oil North to Canada?
My cousin told me that guys and gals that were working on ranches are quitting and headed back over to the Bakken Oil fields from Montana.
The world needs energy. Better NG, and oil, than coal.
The pipeline can take fuels from the Great State of Canadia to ports of the Gulf of America to fuel Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa …
And pipelines can run either direction. Stability of flow/markets when needed.
Al,
IIRC, it was supposed to carry unrefined product from the northern fields from Alberta and points South (ND, SD, MT, WY, etc) to Tx for refining and shipping domestically and abroad. Tankers sail away, money flows in and inflation abates. I see no problems except idiot activist judges, Round 2 and possibly U-boats in the Fla straits.
The company that was to build the pipeline bought pipe that had to be abandoned after the Biden decision. Once bitten, twice shy. TC Energy spun off their oil pipes to a new company South Bow, leaving only gas. Neither TC or Bow have any interest in resurrecting the Keystone XL. They would have to be massively incented to do so.
Of course, we all know some democrat piece of shit judge will shut down the lawful order by Trump. Until the filthy democrats are eradicated for all positions of their abused power, few construction companies will risk the losses if the buy a bunch of construction materials only to have the next piece of shit democrat POTUS or activist judge fuck them over again.
All the fired federal employees need to be put on a “do not hire” list for the pipeline.
The wife has a nephew that is a crane operator that worked for a company building oil rigs. Biden caused him to be laid off 4 years ago. He has been building houses the past 4 years. Two weeks ago he went back to his old job. He is in Louisiana running a crane doing the drill baby drill gig.
Where I live the price of gas has dropped 50 cents per gallon in the past month.
MAGA!
@Cynic: All the displaced federal employees need to be told, “Learn to drill.”

Probably need a few ditch diggers on the Keystone Pipeline.
Warren Buffett will be pissed, a lot of the oil from Canada gets shipped in tanker cars on his railroad.
The map seems to show that oil from the sand fields of Alberta is ALREADY making its way here. What was the point of the Keystone exactly??
@MrLiberty
To avoid using big tanker trucks from jack-knifing next to you on the freeway or a tank car derailing in your home town. Seem to recall one of the big financial poobahs (W Buffet?) involved in that. Big contribution can keep your trucks and trains running. Unsafe, untidy and inefficient. The e$$ence of big government performance. All for Ma Gaia (Purity Be Upon Her), of course.
Canada ought to love Trump for his plan to continue to build and complete the Keystone, which will provide its oil a faster way to be refined and get to the market.
