Trump Lawyers to Use Videos of Democrats Inciting Violence During Impeachment Defense

NTD:

Former President Donald Trump’s lead impeachment defense attorney Bruce Castor said he will use video clips of top Democrats inciting violence during the coming impeachment trial.

Castor said the defense team will adhere to the strategy outlined in the brief they submitted to the Senate on Tuesday.

The Trump defense team argued in the brief that the Constitution “requires that a person actually hold office to be impeached” and that Trump was exercising his First Amendment right of free speech to question the results of the November election.

The impeachment against Trump goes against the Constitution because Trump doesn’t hold any office after he left the White House on Jan. 20, the lawyers argued. read more

  1. This will be fun, but i hope they also produce some of the mountains of evidence they have on voter fraud. But I am sue hisshonor Patrick Leahey will rule any defense presented as inadmissible.

  2. I dunno about that tactic. It’s like you’re stopped for speeding and your plea to the judge is that others were speeding, too, and they weren’t ticketed.

Your mom would say “Just because others do it, doesn’t make it right”.

I hope the defense includes strong arguments that Trump simply did not incite the riot. That is the charge.

  3. I am thinking that wall erected around Congress wasn’t to stop Trump’ers. Given BLM and Antifa marched in the streets of Washington, D.C. on Feb. 6th, demanding a laundry list of items while shouting “If we don’t get it, burn it down!”.

  4. Since an impeachment trial requires the chief justice to preside over it, and he will not since it is unconstitutional, this is not a legal impeachment trial at all.

That puts it in a different category than impeachment so perhaps the Republicans should require Leahy, who is to preside over it instead, to wear a Kangaroo suite while presiding.

  5. @Lady Liberty – they will, but part of the presentation is to show what is considered incitement. Like the targets claimed when Giffords got shot, you can’t insist that it’s incitement when they do it but not when you do it.

  6. Tony R, the election fraud is only reason PDT supporters were in DC but the evil political class won’t let anyone talk about that part
Lady Liberty, perhaps their strateegery is to impeach the impeachers 🙂
everything about the biteme installment is whack, nothing’s normal

  7. Anonymous is right: It’s not an impeachment trial. It is a fundraising event for the Dems and a source of material for media talking heads and late-night “comics”.

It is also fodder for DAs to seek criminal indictment of Trump and others for incitement.

  8. Its like Britain starting in WWII with Churchill but then switching to Neville Chamberlain after the blitz started. The dog you used to scare your neighbors is going to bite you too. After it eats your baby you blame the neighborhood.

  9. So we’re going to witness the infamous “Well he did it too” defense. Where do they find these Looney Tunes f*cks? Maybe Trump SHOULD show up to defend himself after he fires ALL of these maroons.
