Trump Orders Records Related to ‘Aviation Pioneer’ Amelia Earhart to Be Declassified, Released

Breitbart-

President Donald Trump ordered his administration on Friday to declassify and release records related to American aviator Amelia Earhart, and her “final trip.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Earhart as being “an Aviation Pioneer” who became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean by herself. Trump also noted that Earhart had “achieved many other Aviation ‘firsts.’”

Trump continued to note that the disappearance of Earhart “almost 90 years ago” has continued to captivate “millions” of people.

“I am ordering my Administration to declassify and release all Government Records related to Amelia Earhart, her final trip, and everything else about her,” Trump said. more

  1. There was a rumor that she was collecting intelligence on the Japanese and their military build up and they may have shot her down. I have no information to support any of that but classifying information of her flights suggests something of the sort was true.

  2. Well, if it is a distraction it’s a pretty good one. Because now all I can think about is Amelia Earhart, Super Spy. Heh.

You know, there are always those real people that tend to wander into the pages and screens of popular fiction. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve seen H.G. Wells used in TV shows or movies. Not his characters but him. Amelia Earhart is another one that pops up randomly everywhere. The one I remember the most was her in an episode of Star Trek Voyager. I think she may appear more now, especially if there is actually something of true interest in those records.

  3. I never thought too much about her life, but I considered her a pretty good pilot. I think she was second to non-stop from the US to Europe. She and Noonan got, what, 3/4 around the world. A lack of knowledge about a certain part of the Pacific Ocean and its islands is what doomed them, I believe.

  4. In one way, she was like Magellan, whose ship circumnavigated the world, but he did not, dying in the Philippines.

Or Henry Hudson (Hudson River, Hudson’s Bay), whose crew mutinied and put him ashore on Hudson’s Bay. What a predicament to be in. He may have ended up as an hors d’oeuvres for a Polar Bear.

Polar Bear #1: Hey, this meat tastes funny.
Polar Bear #2: Whaddya expect, it ain’t seal meat.
