Trump to announce Sean Curran as Secret Service director, CNN reports

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President-elect Donald Trump plans to announce Sean Curran as his pick for director of the Secret Service, CNN reported on Thursday, citing multiple sources familiar with the plan.

Curran has served as the special agent in charge of Trump’s security detail and was with him at the time of an assassination attempt on the Republican during an appearance in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Trump transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report. more

  1. I haven’t read Trump’s The Art of the Deal, but I would bet IOTW Bux that somewhere in there is something about having “skin in the game” in order to fight hard for personal reasons. Look at a number of his office nominees and political appointments; a number of them have been directly injured by the federal organizations they are now being asked to lead. Without knowing anything else about him (which I don’t), besides that he came under direct fire and could have been killed by the negligence of the organization for which he works, it seems obvious he’s not going to let himself or anyone else in the SS come close to not ending their shift alive. That alone, makes him a very good choice.
