Trump’s first salary donation: $78K given to National Park Service

April 3 (UPI) — President Donald Trump has decided to donate his salary for the first few months of his tenure — more than $78,000 — to the National Park Service, the White House said Monday.

“It’ every penny that the president received from the first quarter,” administration spokesman Sean Spicer said during his news briefing Monday. “It’s from January 20th, noon, forward.”

Spicer gave the check for $78,333.32 to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and NPS superintendent Randy Burke at the briefing.

“We span 12 time zones … We have 417 national parks,” Zinke said of his department. “I am thrilled at the president’s decision to donate the check he did today.”  read more

  1. Just a few weeks ago, the social media memes were flying with Trump going back on his pledge to refuse the Presidential salary and keeping the money for himself.

    Today, not a peep.

  2. “It’s every penny that the president received from the first quarter,” administration spokesman Sean Spicer said during his news briefing Monday. “It’s from January 20th, noon, forward.”

    Spicer lied!

Trump has to take 25¢ per quarter for his $1 salary.

  3. Why didn’t he give it to the Clinton Crime syndicate in order to help all those poor Haitians recover from their climate change disaster incurred on them several years ago by a vindictive Mother Nature?

  4. @ DBM?>>>Reconstruction Era, Freedom Riders, and Birmingham Civil Rights National Monuments became the three newest additions to the National Park System on January 12, 2017.
The National Park System encompasses 417 national parks in the United States. They span across more than 84 million acres in each state and extend into the territories, including parks in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.

  5. At Spicer’s briefing yesterday, following remarks by Secy Zinke, Sean was asked by one of the press if perhaps Trump should consider paying for the security needed at Mar-a-lago since he uses that facility so frequently. The question was about the “fairness” to taxpayers and the “outrageous” expense of having to mobilize the Secret Service. Spicer shamed the asker by reminding him that Trump had just donated his salary back to the gov’t, that he’d already given up his business empire, that he’d taken no salary and all the rest; that he’d already given up quite a lot to serve the country. Same briefing, someone earlier started asking about Trump’s withdrawal of money from his blind trust and asked if the press could get a commitment from the WH that future withdrawals would be shared with the press and the nature of those withdrawals. Spicer laughed and reminded them that the nature of a blind trust was so that people could withdraw money from them.

Every briefing there is a pig pile-on, trying to frame Trump as a slimy nogoodnik, up to nefarious dealings. These people make me sick. (They are looking better these days in their pressed suits, clean ties and combed hair, though).

  6. Damn commie bastard! Oh wait, that was obama, who pocketed every cent of his greatly undeserved Nobel Peace Prize money. What a freaking joke that turned out to be! PEACE prize. HUH!
