(CNSNews.com) – Building the Atlantic Coast Pipeline will have a “less than significant environmental impact,” a final regulatory assessment released Friday concludes. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s report will play a major role in the Commission’s decision this coming Fall to allow construction of the infrastructure project President Donald Trump promised to deliver.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s final environmental impact statement examines the 600-mile pipeline project proposed by Atlantic Coast Pipeline, Dominion Energy and Atlantic and Piedmont Natural Gas to carry natural gas through Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.
The analysis found that any adverse environmental impacts on water resources, forests and some endangered species in the pipeline’s path could be reduced to less-than-significant levels with compliance to federal standards and implementation of protective measures. more
Now protect the works from union leeches so we can build it at reasonable relative cost with high quality standards.
Right on.
We can’t drill our way to…
The smartest man in the world said that.
MAGA on and pass the gas!
Trump has been “layin’ pipe” his whole life.
(wink wink)
I reckon this isn’t going to be a popular post.
Fact is, the pipeliners don’t give a shit about the what or who they screw up. The Rover XT pipeline running from WV through OH , approved months ago, has demonstrated exactly what pipeliners think of compliance to federal standards as they march across these states. Look it up.
Don’t get me started on the wisdom of burying these large diameter, high pressure, high volume pipelines in property owners’ front yards, sometimes 50 feet from residences. From the bullying tactics pipeliners use to survey, to the ruthless eminent domain proceedings taking away property owners’ rights, pipeline construction is never a pretty picture.
How do I know? There’s a large pipeline slated to run just off my property, scant feet from my water source. The inanity of FERC’s final EIS concerning this pipe reflect the complete collusion between FERC and the industry they are charged to regulate. No wonder, since the energy industry is FERC’s sole source of funding.
Before you start throwing rocks, I am no enviroweenie. I fight this pipeline solely on the grounds of property rights. I recognize the need for pipelines. The willy-nilly manner in which this new crop of pipes is being approved is insane. There’s more regard for the Indiana bat than there is for citizens. There is a better way, by establishing pipeline safety corridors that minimize not only environmental impacts, but minimize the exposure to residents along the path. Pipeline ruptures happen, that’s a fact.
There are now at least two federal cases filed by property owners that challenge the FERC pipeline process and the tactics employed by pipeliners. I am a litigant in one of those cases. Just two weeks ago, too little too late, a county court found that Spectra Energy incorrectly applied Ohio law to gain property access for surveying, this after 90% of the route has been surveyed. And county courts along the route therefore incorrectly applied Ohio law in granting carte blanche approval to surveying. Money talks, even in the seats of justice in this country. It’s a god damn shame.
