As I understand it, she isn’t a PhD, he degree is an EdD or something along those lines and her thesis was about maintaining enrolment at community colleges.

She has an EdD which she was 55 when she earned. Nothing wrong with that, and I refer to plenty of PhDs as doctor. The issue is whether she used the term this year to suggest superior medical knowledge to those not called ‘doctor’. That would clearly be an abuse of the title.

If we apply the same logic as used to refer to her as DOCTOR, we should call every lawyer “doctor” as well, since they have JD degrees.
