Losing a grandparent or a parent is hard enough, but to lose a child at any age is the ultimate pain.

I have a close friend who is a retired Marine 1st Sgt. and he always said notification duty had to be the worst duty in the corps, even harder than combat.
I disagreed and said the worst part is having a young Marine that you just got to know die in your arms than have to put his body on a helo.
I still see their faces most nights.
