PM:
On Monday night, Tulsi Gabbard passed her last hurdle of a procedural vote in the Senate in order to advance to a final vote this week for her confirmation as Director of National Intelligence. The vote was in favor of invoking cloture 52-46.
The cloture vote on Monday evening was crucial for Gabbard to move forward with the nomination, where she needed 50 votes to advance. A successful cloture vote in the Senate shortens debate before a final vote to 30 hours, eliminating the possibility of a filibuster delay.
Gabbard advanced out of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence last week, where she was able to get key support from GOP Sens. Susan Collins as well as Todd Young. Sen. Tom Cotton as well as Vice President JD Vance worked around the clock to get her the support from the lawmakers. MORE
The day after her confirmation should be fun.
The dems are dragging their feet trying to delay the inevitable.
It not the Dems. We have the numbers. Somebodies beating the tar out of the RINOS. Is it Thune? If it is I underestimated him. But someone is having serious conversations with the likes of Susan Collins.
