21 arrested for ‘large-scale’ drug ring at Duke and UNC fraternities

Just The News: Twenty-one people have been arrested for running a large-scale drug ring at and around the University of North Carolina, Duke University and the Appalachian State University.

U.S. attorney Matthew Martin, a UNC alumnus, said Wednesday hat the ring was comprised of “hardened drug dealers.”

“This is a large drug network and supply chain fueling a drug culture at fraternities and within these universities and around these universities and towns,” he said. read more

  1. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I had a buddy back in the late 70’s-early 80’s who paid his way through college dealing coke to rich frat boys. Looks like the frat boys have cut out the middleman over the years.

  2. I had a room-mate who was a business major in college. He paid for his education with weed and coke. I was glad we only “roomed” one quarter.

    Besides my room-mate there were two fraternities that ran the pot drug trade on campus. It was the early 80’s. The heavier stuff came from the Theater department. That was another room-mate.

    I went through room-mates.
