CBS News is looking to cut costs amid reports that the network is losing between $35–$50 million per year. The network’s parent company, Paramount, insists the news division is still profitable, which is bogus. Puck media reporter Dylan Byers looked into it and found that the claim of profitability is based on a blatant accounting gimmick that allocates roughly $50 million to the news division that it doesn’t actually earn.
An easy way to save some money would be to fire Gayle King, who (for reasons that defy explanation) earns an annual salary of $10 million. King is a co-host of CBS Mornings, the lowest-rated network morning show on television. She is also a “close friend” of Oprah Winfrey, the celebrity billionaire and guest speaker at the 2024 Democratic convention. King made headlines earlier this year by going to space with Jeff Bezos’s buxom gal pal, Lauren Sanchez. “I’m so proud of me!” she squealed upon returning to Earth. more
A common social norm, pretty much practiced through antiquity, is that you are the sum product of your 5 closet friends. If you are conscientious, disciplined, and driven, you will surround yourself with like-minded individuals, not only for support but also for validation. Degenerates are the same way. They prefer morally ambiguous acquaintances, less judgmental.
This also highlights a moral failing of our culture as it is now, where status can be achieved by wealth or branding, not virtue or achievement.

These people live in their own universe and it has virtually nothing to do with the rest of us. The mystery to me is that some people can produce material about the “liberal elite” that attracts enough eyeballs to bring in enough ad money to make a profit. Who is it that cares about those degenerates? Why?
