TX teacher demands pay raise if administrators ‘don’t want to burn alive’

EAG: DALLAS – A Dallas high school teacher faces terrorism charges after he allegedly emailed administrators demanding “Master Teacher Salary” and back pay if they “don’t want to burn alive.”

Police contend 29-year-old Omar Alanis admitted to sending emails from his district account to his principal at Seagoville High School and other administrators last week demanding a salary increase for himself and another teacher retroactive to his start at the school in August, KDFW reports.

Alanis also sent an email threatening that those who don’t comply with his demands would be “put down immediately by Dallas PD,” and attached an image of armed officers, police said.

The social studies teacher, whose current salary is $52,000 a year, then disappeared for several days, prompting police to heighten security around the school while family members came from out-of-town to search for him, according to the Dallas Morning News.

  1. “Burn alive.” Isn’t that what ISIS does? Let’s not jump to conclusions though…………..and it’s muslimes…..or maybe not….I don’t know. He’s apparently nutz enough to be one.

  2. Fools have been deluded into thinking they’re worth more because of advanced degrees. If anything, they should be paid less because of more indoctrination, not more education. To date, there is no proof indoctrinators with Master’s degrees produce any better results than 1st year teachers with Bachelor’s degrees.

  3. My kid didn’t even have a teaching degree, or whatever, but he got hired to teach (Bach of Science from top notch collage) at a middle school that is very rough. Florida, nuff said. Anyway – he had to take a bunch of tests before he could begin work, AND has to re-test every year to re-qualify. He only makes about 40K. No one wants to teach at that place because the kids are a hot mess. Most barely speak English, etc. I worry about him every day, but he does want to teach. He plans to move on to better prospects after five years. I am saving up to help him move.
