U.S. Bishops Walk Back Demands for Stricter Gun Laws

Breitbart:

The United States Catholic bishops toned down language calling for stricter gun control legislation in the midst of three major shooting incidents in the country.

In a July 30 statement on the Bishops (USCCB) website, Bishop Frank Dewane, Chairman of the Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, stated, “Our legislators must make changes to our gun policy to prevent the loss of life,” following the shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California.

In an updated August 3 statement after Saturday’s El Paso shooting, signed this time by both Bishop Dewane and President of the U.S. Bishops’ Conference Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the bishops seemed to backpedal in a small but significant way from the earlier declaration.

“The plague that gun violence has become continues unchecked and spreads across our country,” the statement reads.

“Things must change. Once again, we call for effective legislation that addresses why these unimaginable and repeated occurrences of murderous gun violence continue to take place in our communities,” it says. more

  1. A shame those “Bishops” can’t bring themselves to demand addressing the causes of the violence, things like demanding a return to Bible reading and prayer and 10 Commandment plaques on the walls in schools to instill a common morality among the people, things like demanding “immigrants” be restricted to those that want to become Americans and work to assimilate themselves into American culture instead of coming in mass and remaining what they are and not even learning English but demanding we cater to them and their languages and customs, things like demanding we return to being a culturally homogeneous nation with common basic moral beliefs, ideas and goals in life, and on, and on, and on.

But they’re not going to demand that, now are they?

  2. I bet those “Frauds Of The Cross” (I like that. I’m gonna use that. I know a few. LOL!) didn’t even think about offering up comforting prayers for the families. Go beat your bishops bishops. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

  3. Matthew 18 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.
    Jesus Warns of Offenses

6 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of [a]offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

So “DON’T MOLEST KIDS, YOU CREEPY PEDOPHILES” IS in The Bible, and they IGNORE that. But “Thou shalt NOT own firearms” is NOT in The Bible (& the exact OPPOSITE is in our Constitution!), but they mix the two kingdoms (temporal & heavenly), and get it wrong on BOTH counts; yet expect us to “TRUST” their moral authority on EITHER?!?! 🤨

    NOT I think, today… 😡

  4. Should complete Background Checks for any gun regulations being enacted INCLUDE an identification question? Are you a United States citizen entitled to United States constitutional Rights that cannot be abridged? A simple Yes No checkbox would suffice, for the permanent records.

Don’t liberals want to know whose buying weapons of mass destruction?

Well, let us ask them to include it in the legislation.

What? They don’t want THAT question asked?

    Hhhhhmmmmmmmmm.

    Smile

The USCCB is one of the most corrupt and contemptible institutional going. They have been since at least the 1960’s. There are a few good men, but as an institution they are filth and can kiss my ass.
