Neon Nettle: Thanks to Joe Biden, Americans will need to put up more money to keep their homes heated this winter. The inflation rate is the highest its been in 13 years, up top 5.4% year over year in September.
Prices soared 0.4% in Sept, up from 0.3% in August. The key drivers behind inflation are gas, food, and goods.
Gas is up 25% under Biden.
Now the US government is expecting household heating bills to jump massively and expects this winter will be colder than the last. more here
C’mon, man! It’s that damned supply chain thing. Y’all just aren’t working hard enough!
Only if your Furnace works.
Good Job Assholes!
Now Unload the Fuckin Ships!
I need my HVAC parts.
Want to bet if DJT was in charge the military would be helping out.
but the inflation rate will only be 5.4%!
Stop pissing on my head and telling me it’s just raining!!
We anticipate no shortage of heat here this Winter.
Maybe the approaching ‘Hell On Earth’ will help.
Let’s Go Brandon!
And insiders suggest rolling blackouts nationwide on top of the inflation.
All ordered up on purpose.
This is not much of a worry here in Florida.
Of course, next summer’s AC bill might be a shock!
Keep in mind They want to emulate California Style Governing…
I’m going to use My 10,000 Watt generator to run My Tesla Fireplace.
Turn down your thermostat and put on a sweater. Now I see why Joetard visited Jimmy Carter. FJB
@Uncle Al, yeah, the opposite here, as our summers are cool and fantastic, but winters can be brutal. But @WildBill is correct – it’s amazing how much not turning the heat up can help keep the bill down. I know some people get on about how they want the freedom to turn their heat up, etc., and I hear that, but this is really just common sense to be applied *all* the time, not just now. Mind you, I’m not saying freeze yourself out, just that you don’t have to crank it up to 75 (or whatever a high temp is to you) to be warm. Also, you can put the shrink wrap stuff on your windows, which also helps.
My whole main level gets pretty hot when I cook, so for awhile I don’t have to have the heat up super high, and my thermostat I can program so the heat goes down when we are away during the day, and also while we sleep (there is a separate thermostat on the upper floor). Also, I had cracked down on my son last year because he left lights on all over the place, and when he made the effort to stop doing that, I saw a difference in the bill.
So, hopefully I can keep it down again this winter.
@TRF
It is %5.4.
Per Month!
Here in North Idaho we are blessed with hydro power. We pay about 6.5¢/kWh. Price of coal, gas and oil not applicable. Plus two woodstoves. Moving over here from the People’s Republic of Western Washington six years ago was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Guess I’m going to freeze to death. $600 a month would be half my income. I hear it’s not a bad way to go, don’t you just shiver a while and then go into a coma?
Let’s go, Brandon!
Colder and wetter than normal in the West; warmer and dryer than normal in the East. Might be the worst winter in 20 ± years in OR, WA, ID.
I burn anthracite. It was up to 350 a ton last year, but I have a surplus for this year. I may not even need any, but I’ll get another 2 tons this year. You can heat your home for 2 to 3 dollars a day.
The elites have no worries what with their connections and being able to go to warmer climes. They truly think “Let them eat cake.” My thinking is “Let them eat lead.”
It’s warm where democrats are speechifying…
