This is much more about the protest of globalism than it is about taxes. The tax issue was the last straw.
The fact that nation after nation is saying “NO” to the UN ‘migrant’ demands, Germany is getting rid of Merkel, and the EU exit attempts shows how the ‘revolt’ is growing. Also, many nations have walked out of the Paris climate scam deal after President Trump bravely showed them how easy it was. These all show that the globalists in trouble.
