Update: Rand Paul Sustained 6 Broken Ribs, Pleural Effusion

The Daily Caller: Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul confirmed his injuries are more extensive than initially reported after his neighbor attacked him outside of his Kentucky home Friday.

Paul’s neighbor, 59-year-old Rene Boucher, assaulted Paul while he was mowing his lawn. The Kentucky Republican was initially thought to have broken five ribs and suffered contusions after being tackled to the ground

“I appreciate all of the support from everyone,” he said in a statement Wednesday. “A medical update: Final report indicates six broken ribs and a new X-ray shows a pleural effusion.”

Paul is currently recovering from his injuries at home, but hopes to be back in Washington in coming weeks.

Boucher is being charged with fourth-degree assault.

  1. I’m surprised no other senator has tackled grandstander Paul on the Senate floor since he endorsed McCONnell in his last election.

It’s difficult for Paul to compete with McCain and Rep. Steve Scalise for sympathy. But milk it for what’s worth Paul.

He’ll have an illegal alien mowing his lawn from this point forward.

  2. Nobody sustains 6 broken ribs from a “tackle” on a grass lawn.
Injuries suggest the good Doctor Boucher was stomping on Paul’s rib cage once he was down. Intentionally trying to cause exactly this kind of damage–broken ribs, with complications.

A new demographic crime category: MD’s attacking MD’s in gated suburban communities.

  3. “The unfortunate occurrence of November 3rd has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agendas.”

This of course is s steaming pile. The lawyer is, as he’s paid to do, trying to get his stupid client off the hook of the MUCH more serious charges – I doubt this level of injury comes under “fourth degree” assault, and I know attacking a Senator for political reasons is a different kettle of fish – with which he should properly be charged.

Is anyone besides me wondering if it’s just a coincidence this attack occurred on the day designated by the moonbats as “Refuse Fascism: It Begins?”

  4. Homicidal entitlement is all the rage–pun intended–on the left. Whether it’s shooting up Christian churches, taking out Republican politicians or just running you off the road because of your Trump bumper sticker, they are being called to righteously kill Hitler and all his little Eichmanns. Do not believe any of the excuses which the media makes for them. At the root of almost every attack is homicidal leftism unleashed by mental illness and preening moral righteousness.

  5. If Rand had only stopped the wind from carrying that sole grass clipping from flying over onto to his neighbor’s property he wouldn’t have been rightfully assaulted. If I were Rene I’d be pissed about it too.

  6. 4th Degree assault? That’s like brushing into someone with intent to harm. I’d say having 6 broken ribs is the result of an assault with intent to cause death or serious bodily harm. There is something really phucked up here. And it isn’t getting much coverage in the MSM. Who the phuck knows the truth anymore?

  7. There’s no excuse (no matter what his lawyer says) for attacking a guy mowing his lawn, wearing earphones, from behind. I hope Rand sues the crap out of him. Filthy leftist.

  8. “Rand Paul lay on the ground from this kidney shot to the back, his assailant got up and stomped his ribs. That is how you end up with 5 broken ribs.”

No, No, And No. He was tackled from behind while mowing his lawn. That means he landed on his lawn mower. I broke 3 ribs crashing on a dirt bike in a similar fashion. And Paul was totally defenseless. Meaning he didn’t see it coming. Lame Cherry has been living up to it’s name lately. As far as the whack job that tackled him the pay back comes when Paul sues his ass in civil court and takes him for everything he has.

I wonder whether this guy is still out on the cheap peanuts bail the arraignment Judge initially gave him. This was politically motivated no doubt and this guy is a sitting US Senator. It sure will be interesting to see what the sentence is.

Ten years of Federal PMITA time. He got a real pretty mouth ain’t he?
