CalvinAyre.com: The US casino lobby is seeking a federal bailout as the coronavirus crisis forces operators to shutter their operations for an unknown period.
On Monday, the governors of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut collectively announced that their states would indefinitely close all casinos, pubs, restaurants, movie theaters and gyms effective 8pm Monday.
Connecticut’s two casinos plan to stay closed for at least two weeks but New Jersey’s governor said only that Atlantic City’s casinos would stay shut until “it is deemed safe for their reopening.” It will be only the fifth time that AC’s casinos have been ordered to close, of which three times were weather-related.
Similar casino closures have been ordered in other states, including Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Washington. Casino operators in Nevada, including many on the Las Vegas Strip, have been closing on an individual basis.
Casinos in South Florida have shut but the Seminole Tribe is keeping its Hard Rock venues open for the time being after imposing ‘social distancing’ measures. Some larger California casinos have announced temporary shutdowns while others remain open. more here

To understand, look at Hitlers rise to power in the 30’s, this is following the same course of giving powers to him that were totally illegal under German law at the time. The result should have been predictable then and it should be predictable now, but the average person will never realize what is happening until after it has happened and it’s too late to do anything about it.
(Keep in mind that this is happening on a much greater worldwide scale now than it was then, almost like Hitler and his rise to power was a test run of the process and showed the way to do it using the fear of the people as a vehicle.)

The Tribes have sovereign nation status. They don’t have to comply with the quarantine. They should stay open simply because they are the only place people can go to.

Since Indian casinos are their own sovereign nations they should be allowed to tell the feds to go to hell and carry on business as usual. Besides all the smoke from all the smokers inside the casinos probably helps to kill Corona virus as well.

…always hated that expression “Crafting” for what government does, like sitting around in puddles of corruption wasting other peoples’ money is somehow akin to making a fine cabinet or cutting a jewel just so.
…I know, they use it, so it’s legit that you use it, but maybe we need a different phasing entirely, like “Shitting out a trillion dollar bailout” or “corruptly producing a trillion dollar bailout with kickbacks for themselves that will enrich their political buddies as well.

…I don’t know about Corona, but smoking legit DOES keep mosquito and tsetse fly borne illnesses away like Aftrican trypanosomiasis (“Sleeping Sickness”), dengue, malaria, yellow fever, zika, etc., by dint of keeping the actual mosquitos and flies at bay in whatever shithole country you’re encountering them in.
Also, if you’re in a shithole country with a cannibal population, it’s good to smoke as publicly and as often as possible, as smoking is said to spoil the taste of your meat.
…it seems to have lost it’s BEST virtue, though, of keeping liberals away, as the millennials seem to have rediscovered cigarettes, but on balance, while overseas, in Muslim enclaves in America, or probably also in Indian country from what I’ve seen of it, it’s probably a good idea to smoke outdoors for the duration…

…not knocking you at all, @Tim, and you are right about “creating” which is why I avoided it as well, but the word doesn’t seem to go to the root when people think about it, but rather it sounds like it’s something USEFUL that is painstakingly, carefully produced for the maximum benefit of all involved, at least it does to me, but maybe I’m just a sport.
And I am trying NOT to curse, but I also believe that Government should ONLY be spoken of in the crudest possible terms and considered a profession somewhat lower than the guy who empties the prostitute’s spit-cups at the whorehouse because Government as a whole is nothing but evil and inherently bad and corrupt by the very ACT of governing, as we see DAILY fulfillment of the saying, “Power Corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”(Lord Acton).
Any politician should be rightly viewed as an improperly disposed of dog turd or a puddle of cat vomit, and treated accordingly, as that is a fair approximation of their overall value to society and offensiveness to civilization.
…but perhaps they know this of themselves, which would explain why they’ve produced and promoted people who are ACTUAL coprophiliacs…
