  1. Even though it’s “free speech,” just be mindful of what information you disclose about yourself and your family and friends. As shown with Parler, when the SHTF their security service was pulled before the servers were shut down. This resulted in a hack where ALL information was exposed and a group of hackers successfully downloaded anything they wanted. Namely, pictures uploaded with geo tags (think your phone with location services turned on). The original pics were preserved on Parler’s servers before the tags are stripped for public use. Now the hackers at the very least have all kinds of location data of where people live. Everything that was on Parler has been compromised, including all private data.

Just some friendly advice. Most important be careful of those pics with geo location tags, you probably forget about it when you want to share a harmless picture of some random thing around your house.

Most people don’t even know they are providing that info with an innocently posted pic.

Would be a good thing to post a tutorial on this subject. Maybe even have a constant reminder about it with a link to the tutorial.

  3. Anyplace we go is subject to being shut down.

Newsmax has an article crowing about how they’ve overtaken Fox on Newsmax’s free platforms. All it takes is one guest on newsmax saying that the rally in DC wasn’t that bad and newsmax might be saying bye to those free platforms they are on.

If we find a platform and worse comes to worse, the isp’s will be pressured to block those platforms.

Here’s an idea. If we were to shut down the left, it would literally only be days before they invented some kind of encrypted, blockchain derived thing that nobody could block.

Do we have any tech talent in maga-land that can come up with anything. Cause you don’t really think the leftist tyrants are going to let us talk on the internet when they have the power to shut us down, do you? Parler will get their own servers and then isp’s will shut them down. Free platforms will eventually shut down newsmax.

It’s war, people, and the other side isn’t worrying about any dainty things like fairness. So lets go!

  4. Definitely switch to Brave as your browser. For sites you trust, or where you need such things as login scripts to run, you can lower the automatically “on” protection. Click on the red lion to the right of the address bar and adjust as needed. Of course, protection can be turned back on.

Way over on the right, click on the three line “hamburger” menu then scroll down and click “Settings”. You will see “Search engine” in the left menu. Click that and specify DuckDuckGo, or other choices, as your default search engine.

  5. @ Deb the Bee

I’ve been using Brave browser for at least a year probably longer. I like it. It’s Chromium based so if you have ever used Chrome the learning curve shouldn’t be a problem. Just opt out of Brave rewards if you want your choice. Chromium is Google’s open source browser meaning it’s free and others can take the code and make it their own so don’t get stuck on the Google thing. Most extension that work on Chrome will work on Brave.

  6. I downloaded the “Dissenter” browser from GAB just before Mozilla committed the head shot. I installed Dissenter and uninstalled firefox. Dissenter is all that firefox was and more.

  7. So this is interesting: Tim Berners-Lee is working on something he thinks will challenge Big Tech’s stranglehold.

“Inrupt is a startup that Berners-Lee has been working on in stealth for about nine months. He’s even taken a sabbatical from his prestigious position teaching at MIT’s CSAIL labs in order to work full time. And Inrupt will finally launch to the world this week, Berners-Lee told Fast Company in an exclusive interview.”

    https://www.indiatimes.com/technology/news/tim-berners-lee-wants-to-turn-the-internet-on-its-head-and-decentralize-it-once-more-353998.html

Looks like limited functionality right now, but has potential for the future.
