  1. Christmas when we were kids in school was joyous, with decorations, Christmas stories, and of course singing of wonderful Christmas carols. Now all that is gone from schools. So, you go off to church hoping for a sanctuary (literally) for that joyous music, but all you get is Come Oh Come Emanuelle. Yes, I know Advent is supposed to be a time of somber anticipation of the Messiah, but when you’re looking for a bit of the joy of the coming Christmas this tune feels only like a dreary dirge.

  2. Nice, thanks MJA.
If it feels to you like a “dreary dirge”, perhaps you should take solace that it’s a reminder of the reason for the season. A somber reminder amidst the clatter.
